Yes they are in the middel of a heatwave at the mo. I have friends in Milan who have gone to France in search of cool air and a daughter in Sorrento who is finding it very hot, and she lives there. There seems to be a pague of mossies too, so dont forget and take your plug ins as some shops are only selling them to locals due to high demand.
However, I still think that's all preferable to being stuck here at work. I know I'd rather be in Italy!!! :sun :sun

That's really helpful, thanks.

Thanks for the tip about the mozzies - we've been to Italy 5 times and never even thought that we'd need mozzie stuff. We'd more or less decided not to take anything. Looks like we'll have to get sorted then!

The last 3 years we've been to Cyprus so hot weather doesn't worry us too much - I'm just so glad that we have the air con!

remember being over there in 2003 (rome again  ) the heat was something else there where a couple of days where it was pushing up to 40c and being in the middle of a city didnt help. put it this way when we came back it was the sunday that it was the hottest day in the uk since records began or something, well anway to us it felt much cooler than what we had got used to.
Anyway the point is you can check the weather reports before you go but just remember that for some reason its always hotter when you get there that they say it is and also the humidty makes it feel even hotter aswell although if you are staying by the lakes you should have a bit of releif from that. hope you have a good time 8)

Thanks for that - the last time we were in Riva it was way over 40 degrees and like you say unbelievably humid.

Anyway, have sorted out the mozzie stuff now ---------now we're on count down ------------- 3 weeks, 3 days .....

PS Know what you mean about weather forcasts. We contacted the Met Office once and they told us that temperatures are taken in a shuttered box, not in direct sunlight so it doesn't take into account the 'sun' factor --- if you see what I mean.

Yip us too.

We went to Cyprus and thermometers were showing over 50! In the press it said that it was 32 degress, the same as the UK ! I thinks its really misleading though if people read the brochure temperatures and book a holiday to somewhere like Turkey, Cyprus or Egypt ..... they get there and find that the temperature in the sun is way over what's quoted!

3 weeks 2 and a half days to go !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
