Sounds like the same sort of holiday me and my boyfriend were after!

I went to Zakynthos last year and stayed in Argassi. That is more or less the second largest town on the island (evening-wise) Loads of bars, a few clubs but you can get away from that if you want to by going out of the centre a bit. The beach was really bad though.

Laganas is becoming very Kavos-like. I personally didn't like it as it was just noise noise noise. I'm sure there were nice, quite areas but it is very loud.

Went to Tsilivi one night and it is much more low-key than Laganas. More friendly but does have a McDonalds (no,no,no!)
The beach is superb there, white sand is most places.
We could get a taxi there form Argassi, but only went there the once.

No McDonalds please!

Anyway how were the food and drink prices in Zante?

So would you rate Tsilivi?

The food and drink prices were pretty reasonable from what I can remember.
If you want a night out in the bars you'll be fine, 2 for 1's everywhere you go!
We went out for food everynight and you pay about £4-£5 for a peppered steak and chips, that sort of thing.

When we fancied a quiet night out, just grab a bottle of wine and go to one of the many sea-front cafe's, very relaxing.

If Argassi had Tsilivi's beach, it would be an ideal place to go.

Tsilivi I'd say, has the odd club but is no where near the scale of Laganas. There are quite a few people from my office going in big groups to Laganas this year so may near to steer clear of that one!

But it does have a lovely beach.

Aghh! Choices choices!

I think we can rule out Laganas. What time of the year did you go?

We went to Argassi in the beginning of June, haven't been around this time of year though......

Hi, we are just back from Tsilivi and it was probably the best greek resort we have been to,a good selection of bars most of which had some sort of entertainment and really friendly staff, there was 1 club but we never went in,loads of restaurants more than enough even if you are there for 2 weeks, the beach was nice with lots of watersports,we stayed at the christina studios which were about a 10-15 min stroll from the centre. We passed through Lagana both during the day and at night and we are just glad we never stayed there although the beach was really nice but that was it's only good point, anyway we would really reccomend Tsilivi, cheers Mark

I think we are looking at Tsilivi now, Planos Bay Apartments.

Can you tell me prices of drinks in the resort, for example the cost of a beer, glass of wine etc and did it vary from bar to bar - could you get good deals by venturing further out?

Many thanks

Hi,

What about Skiathos? my boyfriend and I are recently back from Skiathos town and loved it - loads of tavernas and bars to choose from. We stayed about 20 minutes walk from the town which was ideal.

We've been to Laganas a few years back and have booked Kalamaki (next to Laganas) for next June with Kosmar - as we fancied a quieter base but with the option to get a taxi into Laganas. We've also been to Kefalonia and Santorini, but found these islands slightly more expensive - though just as wonderful.

Good luck, Cejay
