Many thanks Biff for your postings on this hotel!

We are due to fly out on the 16th August ( thankfully our flight no seems to have moved back to Manchester from Glasgow) I'm avidly reading every crumb of info on this property as I'm due to fly out to Bulgaria next Weds (for 12 days working with a charity next Wednesday.)

Can I ask what you thought about the food and also if you had any experience of the entertainment or kids clubs. Daughters would like to know if Tyrone is still there?

Thanks in advance

enetrtainment in evening varied some good bought in shows but the reps shows were Very amatuerish.
food excellent variety and amount.

only a tiny complaint. you cant serve yourself with the fruit juice in the evening only at breakfast

Iv been twice, once in 2002 and then again last year it was ok last year entertainment was a bit like butlins but might of changed this year round food was fab staff wer fab, reps wer fab. I agree about the pool though very dangerous for children who cant swim and for people who like to be able to touch the ground im 5ft2 and can just touch the floor on my tip toes with ma head bent back right in the corner at the shalowest point! I have to say though I enjoyed it more in 2002 when it was with jmc when it was tyrone and mandy and the rest as reps but even though tyrone wasnt a rep ther last year he was there on holiday! Hope everyone going enjoys there stay :wave

Anyone going to magaluf on 17th september 2005? :)

Is there anyone who has mentioned that they are going here recently returned? I am there on the 6th September and read great reviews for it before it vanished of the Iberostar website (I have read somewhere on this forum that it is for now still Iberostar however)
The reviews seem to have gone steadily downhill from then - mainly due to club 18-30 it seems.
Any recent updates would be welcomed.

We are just back from the Majorca Beach - returned early Weds after a fortnight with our four daughters. If there is anything specific you would like to know please let us know. I will post a review over the weekend but since getting home I haven't done much but sleep.

To put your mind at rest we didn't have any problems with the several single sex groups staying in the hotel . However somebody used tha swimming pool as a toilet during the second week and led to its closure for cleaning for most of the day. Entertainment wise if you are a bingo fan or enjoy watching children dip biscuits into hot water ( nightly kids entertainment) then you won't have a problem.

Hi Jo - thanks for the reply, I am awaiting your review with bated breath - not sure that I actually want to read it lol, might be a bit too painful (a bit like picking at a scab - you know its going to hurt but you just cant stop  )
We are out there on Tuesday and I am getting increasingly worried, I booked it in March just before I got married, so its our first holiday with no kids and a belated honeymoon and it sounded so nice then. I also remembered the hotel from our first family holiday abroad in 2000 when we stayed at the Barracuda, my then partner now my husband loved Magaluf so much that was why I booked!!!

Perhaps my expectations of the MB were too high! When we stayed there back in 2003 the entertainments team and the Kids World reps were absolute stars - we didn't stop laughing for a whole week. But having paid £3500 for six of us on the understanding that its a Supersun property - well that is hard to accept. The hotel has (we were told by one of the reps) eight different designs for rooms - we were unfortunate in having rooms with tiny bathrooms and no baths, which with young children led to flooding into the bedroom on a couple of occassions.

One annoying feature is that the Kids World activities were very underfunded compared to a couple of years ago - no prizes or competitions this time other than balloons, and we were warned that for one of the rare free eveing sessions they were unlikely to be able to have more than 8 children due to staff shortages. - using British child ratios -but in Britain we recommend no less than 2 adults at a time.

On reflection we would have been better plumping for a less expensive hotel - only the beach location is a massive plus...

Sorry to be a dampener - I'm sure you will have a brilliant time

Hi Jo,
Just read your reply and I am assuming your review? I know this may sound mad, but, overall you have kind of set my mind at rest. As we are going as two adults (at least until we have a couple of drinks :rofl ) the fact that the entertainment is not up to much is not a worry.
I was wondering can you tell me what the ratio of 18/30's was like and will I need to take my earplugs and valium lol?

I wouldn;t worry too much about the 18-30's at the Majorca Beach, we noticed a large number of much more senior people ( aged 60+) However as the hotel is in Magaluf the number of bars and entertainement outside the hotel should more than compensate! On the plus side there are lots of outside bars competing for custom and lots of them have special offers on drinks!!!

Have a good holiday and don't worry about needing ear plugs. be careful if you are on a high floor and don't use the left hand lift unless desperate as it broke down about 4 times that I saw people trapped in it!
