We have just returned (27th July) and the exchange rate was just as low as here. They were saying the Bombings in london were effecting it. We got 1.40 here and In Playa D'en Bossa we got 1.37 so not much difference really.
Thanks for your reply. I have now changed my money and got 1.39, just glad i changed quite a bit of money when it was 1.45. Soon mounts up though. only 9 days to go!!
When I was changing a month ago, the best rate here in York was 1.442. One day Tomas Cook had "very special" 1.45. Then in SA Bay 1.45 was a common place, almost everywhere though with some "luck" you could have 1.39. I repeat, it was a month ago. General idea: in London (maybe in other really big cities too) you can have a better rate but typically in smaller cities - hardly. If doing again, I would probably change in UK an initial portion, then do the rest in Ibiza.
Ive just got 415 for £300...dunno whatactual the rate was tho?
the rate is pretty good at the moment.
