Congratulations!

I got married abroad 2003 in Jamaica it was lovely, only regret i have that my family didnt come.

They didnt even get to see me in my wedding dress, but to late now.

everything! Flowers, hair. Did you get photo's and a video of your day and if so what was the quality like? How did you take your dress across? If there is anything else i should know, please feel free to tell me. Thanks for your help

My flowers i had made up here before i went (silk), carried them on as hand luggage in a hard case, the ones there were lovely but just couldnt afford them.

i am hairdresser but paid $80 for hair and make up done and it was lovely, i went to see them before to ask it they could do it, they were all of a high standard, no complaints there. this left me more time at the pool, didnt fancy doing myself and bridemaids.

Photos and video get these done both of them please, the standard isnt ours over here but its lovely to keep, photos were fantastic and got these the next day! have as many as you can afford i did they have different packages, the video i did complain when i got back and got the full copy version, my son had made a speach and this wasnt in the first one, so they sent another copy with it in, so i have two, but the overall video was very good with music etc...

The dress i had a two piece one, skirt and top i took that in a hard carry case as hand luggage i wouldn't recommend you put it in the hold. The airline insisted at the time it went in the hold, why i dont know but they didnt know what was in the case, my dress was small it was creased when we arrived after being in the suit case for 24 hours (we were delayed for 18 hours) and the hotel offered to iron it but i declined, with the humidity there the creases fell out by three days just hanging in the room. on the journey home they were put in the hold i didnt care.

You will need insurance for rings , dress etc.... this was about £50 any company does this.

Thank you so much for all your help and advice. We are definately going to get both the photos and video of our day. Just wondering what the music is like on the video - is it really cheesy? The airlines seem very strict about putting my dress in my suitcase! Still undecided about that one. You've eased my mind about my hair, really wasnt sure what it would be like. Well 4 weeks till we go so think i have nearly everything organised!

Hi Ali, our hotel ended up not being ready as it is in the middle of being refurbished so we ended up going to the Wyndham Rose! The wedding day was perfect. Had both my hair and make-up done there, which turned out lovely, the flowers were beautiful and the photo's and video were absolutely brilliant. I couldn't have wished for anything better.

What a shame your hotel wasn't ready, but ended up at the same hotel we got married at. i hope it was all you wanted, we thought so, have you put a write up about it??
