Hello Dianne1.
we spent two marvellous family holidays at the Moscha Apartments in Faliraki in 2000 & 2001 and give you a few details from that time, although bear in mind obviously that things may have changed since then.

The apartments are a 'small' family run set of apartments (although they literally doubled in size between our two stays!) set back about 50 yards from a beach about 30 minutes walk away from Bar Street and the main nightlife. The owner used to be a bloke called Samos (??!?) and he ran the place with his wife, two daughters and parents/in-laws. There was a small bar/cafe, a pool table, TV, a smallish pool (Samos used to provide lilo's etc and even used to supply bottles of sun tan lotion) not for use after 7 when it was cleaned. Rooms were basic and pretty standard fare back when we went. Original rooms didn't have A/C although I think the 'new' rooms did but fans were available. Shower was of the open/walk-in type. Heating was solar powered and we did on occasion struggle on an evening to get 4 hot showers. Think we may have been the opposite to you though in that we never stayed by the pool heading straight for Faliraki's main beach after waking up, returning to the apartments at about 6 for a quick dip in the pool with the kids, shower, shave and then back out again, a pleasant walk back to the centre, some marvellous bars (our particular favourite was Cappucino's Coffee Bar, right next to the Slingshot where not only were we remembered from the previous year but even what our drink order was!!! Wonder if it's still there?) and normally we'd walk back in the early hours. Basically we just used the apartments as a bedroom but did like the place.

We loved Faliraki. The second year that we were there was the year that they were filming the 'Club Reps' series which gave the resort such a bad name. In the month that we spent there we never saw any trouble and the vast majority of places were family friendly, fun places. If you want 'Club Reps' action it's easily found, but then again I can find it in the Boro on a Saturday night.

Transfer from the airport? Ah! Now we're talking. Possibly the main reason (after wanderlust) that we've never returned. We travelled with Olympic Holidays to get a flight from Newcastle Airport which used to arrive in Rhodes at around 5/6 in the morning and one coach seemed to do the whole of the island. Transfer time was stated in the brochure as around 1.5 hours. First time took us around 2.5 hours and the second (when the rep and driver 'lost' some apartments in Ixia) took over 3 hours. Maybe it was the timing of the flight and perhaps things have improved.

In a nutshell - Friendly family owned apartments with basic amenities in what was a fabulous resort with plenty of life and a great beach. My wife and I would return.
