I personally wouldn't go all inclusive because food wise there are so many different options in Naama bay an dit would be a shame to miss them. We went B& B which suited us fine as sometimes it was too hot to feellike having lunch, and dinner we'd have alternate days in Naama Bay and the hotels restaurants.

But as far as alcohol goes, the wine isn't the best, but I found Obelisk Red just about drinkable as a cheap table wine....the equivalent of a £2.99 bottle from the supermarket I'd say.

Most hotels do have top shelf brands but with the price tag to match.

Hope this helps.

I stayed all inclusive and the wine and beer were very nice. We also ate out in the town which we loved - Naama Bay - and would definately go B/B again. A/I is ok but it is so cheap to eat out we wouldn't bother A/I again.

Thanks for your help, is it relatively cheap to eat and drink outside of the hotels, and what is it like getting around ie is it safe and easy to get around to the restaurants.bars etc/
What kind of price is it for a meal/drink please

Do the do any decent wine by the bottle in restuarants. I only drink white wine and from what I have read on the site the Egyptian wine sounds dreadful. :(

Hi, sounds like you can get wine in the restaurants but you pay for it as it has to be imported! What a lot of people seem to be doing is taking a box of wine with them in their luggage to keep cost down!

Have a good one

Dont forget you can visit the duty free shops in sharm, but to get the duty free price you need to go within 24hrs of arriving, this was mentioned to us last year while out there on holiday.... but we missed the deadline. take a few bottles/boxes with you most hotels have fridges in the room, so you can enjoy a glass of chilled wine on the balcony before you venture out :glynis

Hi, Could anyone let me know how much the beer is in Naama bay as my husband has been told that it is really expensive. Thanks Elaine

bottled beer was not too bad, cant remember exactly but not enough to make us not buy it!! Its local brew stella etc and is fine.

We took a box of white then took it out of its box and kept it in the mini bar so I could have a drink on the terrace at night. Not a problem, they just filled up the mini bar around it!!

And yes we did have the odd drink and the kids the odd chocolate bar out of the fridge, and yes it is expensive but comparable to English mini bars in hotels, and we were on holiday, and somehow it taste nicer than from the supermarket!!

Have a lovely holiday! :glynis :sun :glynis

can anyone give any gen on drinking out please i/e the price of a beer and shorts please. do they have bars? thinking luxor area kc

We were in Luxor two years ago and the bottled local beer was very good, probably the same price as here. There werent any bars as such, but you could use other hotel bars. I took my own tipple in a hip flask so cant advise on cost of spirits. The wine is AWFUL by the way, so would definately steer clear of that.

We were in the Sheraton in Sharm in October and it was 140 Egyptian pounds for 2 G & T
The local beer wasn't bad at £3 a bottle, found the local red wine to be a bit like Ribena !
