Yes you would have to get three buses. But you could maybe do something like get the bus to Ibiza Town and then just get a taxi to San An to bring down the cost.

However you are on the nicer side of the island. San An is a rubbish night out IMO. Ibiza Town is the best night out on the island and is where the clued up clubbers are at. Es Cana is also very good but has a very British feel, many decent pubs here and loads of places to eat. Santa Eulalia is also worth a visit which is just down the road to you, its very sedate but has a fantasic beach and loads of really nice resturants and shopping.

By the way Es Cana has one of the best beaches on the island with loads of sun beds, water sports and beach bars, something San An doesn't have.

One more question - is Cafe Del Mar worth a visit for the sun rise?

San antonio is a great night out...if you go with a open mind as there are some fab places. Dont always take notice of those who are always quick and easy to slag this resort off just because it aint considered to be the coolest place by the snobby in crowd. You will find that ibiza town is overly packed, no room to move and full of absolute posers who are more interested in looking at each other than anything else....saying that ..the gay quarter is about the best place in ibiza town to visit!!

Cafe del mar for sunrise...perhaps you mean sunset..yes its worth a visit although savanah next door is equally as good, there are a few sunset strip bars next to each so you;ll be spoilt for choice, look out for names such as sugar sea, coastline, kanya....and if you venture around the bay a bar call Kuhmaras which as an almost hippy ethnic feel for watching sunsets.

Down on the promenade some good bars to visit are Bar M, the orange corner, Bar Itaca...all of which are vibrant

Me and Lukey never see eye to eye on this. But Lukey unfortunetly probably doesn't know the residents of the island like I do. San An and its very serious and ongoing drug and drink abuse problems and the severe street voilence problems have unfortunetly seriously damanged the islands repuation, seriously damaging the tourism industry on Ibiza as a whole, hence the down turn in tourist numbers since Sky's Ibiza Uncovered came out - many people that I know that worked in San An moved over to Es Cana and Santa Eulalia when they relised what its like. I am sure that you can have a decent time in San An though if its your sort of thing, there are some good resturants here and the Sunset strip which of course includes the excellent Cafe Del Mar and Cafe Mambo is well worth it but as a whole I wouldn't recommend it. Also Lukey mentions Bar M, yes that is a decent bar actually, one I have been to many times however there are dozens like it in Ibiza Town. Also the beach in San An is rubbish to say the least!

I have to disagree with Lukey again about Ibiza Town, several major clubbing publications agree with me, Ibiza Town is the place to be on a night, it is home to the all night markets, the Manumission parades, home of Pacha, El Divino nightclubs instead of the chavy Eden and Es Paradis (home of DJ SAMMY! to give you an idea ). Nope sorry San An is a shadow of the rest of the island.

Trust me, Ibiza Town clubbing / gastronomic / shopping centre of the island, Es Cana, family centre of the island while been a good night out, Santa Eulalia, outstanding for couples and people that want to chill out, - San An, punchy British town centre.
Of course there will be people that fall on the side of Lukey here and people that fall on mine. But what we should all keep in mind throughout this debate is - that I am right and anybody that differs is wrong!

maybes im just a little over sensitive after visiting san antonio for the last 7 years i need to get a out a little further... Iwas in ibiza town a few weeks back and couldnt believe how busy it was, felt as though i couldnt move as the crowds around the old town area were so bad..it kind of felt a relief to get back into san antonio aftwards to get some space. And getting on the disco bus to get us back there was like a rugby scrum, everyman for himself..

Ive promised my wife we will visit and stay in the town next month for a long weekend so who knows...maybe it will grow on me

I guess I need to check out both San An and Ibiza Town - I really want to watch the sun set over at Cafe Del Mar and I love the sound of Ibiza Town so I'll experience them both - yippee!

Still dreading the two/three party buses though, especially after the rugby scrum comment - I'm more a taxi kind of gal but too many pennies to do it more than once so will have to lump it I think!
