Flying to Treviso then taxi to Punta Sab. Staying on Venue site Marina de V with my son aged 12. Hav`nt planned too much but will obviously go to Venice and maybe nearby islands.
Has anyone been to Punta Sabbioni before - not sure what to expect also staying under canvas ???
My partner and I are also going to Marina di Venezia and staying on a Venue site. We go next week for 9 nights, so if you aren't going away before then, I will let you know what I thought and any helpful tips etc when we get back.
Just flew back yesterday from Marina Di Venezia and missing the weather already!!!
I have a wife and 3 kids and flew into/out of Treviso via Ryanair. A few observations for reaching Marina Di Venezia!!
1) We decided to travel by bus when we arrived on the 30th May. This is somewhat challenging. Buses as follows (prices p/person):-
Coach 1 - Treviso to Mestre - (4e50 pp including luggage)
Coach 2 - Mestre to Lido Jesolo (3e30pp + 1e60 per case)
Bus 3 - Lido Jesolo to Punta Sabbioni -(2e30 - std bus - little luggage storage)
Bus 4 - Punta Sabbioni - Marina Di Venezia (1e90 - bus type as above)
Campsite is great. Has a shopping village like a Butlins camp and entertainment nightly + lots of places to eat. Great selection of ice creams at 90 cents a scoop!! Free football training, swimming lessons, aerobics class and kids club.
Weather generally good (had 1 storm) , but was a little cloudy some days with some wind, but still got a got tan.
Siesta - The camp closes (literally) between 1pm - 3pm and no cars are allowed in and out. The swimming pool also closes, though you can still use the sun loungers. The beach and beach bars remain open.
1. Treviso airport bus -> venice (Piazza le roma)
Ferry or taxi P.le Roma -> Pieta ferry landing
Ferry Pieta -> punta Sabbione
or
2. Treviso airport bus -> lido di jesolo
Bus lido di jesolo -> Punta sabbione
or
3. Taxi treviso airport -> Camping marina di venezia (expensive)
Which of the above (or any other alternative) is best/how long will they take/ approx cost? - we're going on august 29 pm.
Responses welcome
We have been to a campsite in Ca Savio for the past couple of years and have found it easier and cheaper to contact the campsite and ask them to book a taxi to collect us from the airport. It is a bit more expensive than getting local buses and as you may have to change 2 or 3 times, that is no fun. We look at it as part of the holiday cost, and it is great to arrive, collect your luggage and find taxi driver waiting for you rather than fighting for space on bus especially at P. Drago in Lido de Jesolo
