looking forward to hearing about it! I bet you're exhausted just now.
where did you stay what is there for kids aged 9 and 7 and a baby that will be 2 anything will help as i am going for the first time
You will find quite a lot of different things along the sea front for the children to do and if you all fancy taking in a show the Dolphin restruant put on a very good family show the only thing is you need to book.
TheDolphin is right at the end of the resort past the Victoria Palace and the Fiesta Beach Hotels.
Hey Trish, Im heading to SB on the 3rd of September, cant wait! Wat is the nightlife like, any good nightclubs for people in there late teens, early-mid twenties?
Any tips on nightlife - best bars etc. I know its been asked before but what would you recommend?
Sally
hi trish,
as for bars try the spider bar just lower down on the opposite side tell the curly haired bloke who trys to get you in i sent you
Sunny Beach was fantastic!
Weather - The flood mentioned was last sat and it was really heavy rain for an hour - afterwards the sun didnt come out but it was still warm. The streets were like a massive swimming pool!!! But it was only once and when the sun comes out it is roasting - So apart from that one time we had 2 weeks of baking sun
Things to do for the kids - My 2 are 7 and 12 and there was loads for them to do. From kids bungies, bouncy castles/slides, archery, peddaloes, floor shows etc .... then there are all the stalls!!!!!!!! Everything they could want to buy is there. Gameboy and ps2 games, yu-gi-oh cards, games etc .... Loads of toys, puzzles etc. And clothes, bags, jewelly, its everywhere. Every thing is sooooooooooooooo cheap!
Food - We never had a bad meal anywhere. The food was great. Typical meal for us - 4 steaks with potatoes, gravy and veg, cocktails, beer and soft drinks came to roughly 60 leva -so just over £20.
People say you can't spend your money - you can, theres so much to buy - We spent £1800. But that was through choice, you could spend a lot less if it was just for food, drink, activities etc. The kids just wanted everything so thats where our money went.
Nightlife - Hundreds of bars, 3 or 4 disco/nightclubs .... but as the kids were there I was in mummy mode so didnt do the nightlife But can imagine going with just mates, it would be brilliant!
Went to Nessebar - beautiful, but getting like sunny beach with all the stalls. Water park - Not a lot for my 7 year old as he was too small for most slides , but good for anyone older.
We had a great time there and are looking to book again for next year!
You'll all have a great time!!!
Stayed in the newly built Karlovo apartments - They were really lovely, but built onto the Karlovo hotel and that was "FAULTY TOWERS" .
Can't wait to go back next year!
Trish
Ive asked for the Karlovo apartments to be added as they are completly different to the karlovo hotel. The apartmrnts are beautiful and the hotel is worse than faulty towers lol so wouldnt put the apartments in the hotel review as it wouldnt be a true reflection. So could you add the apartments please?
Thanks
Trish
Just checked to see if apartments were to be added. there seems to be a question re these apartments maybe being up for sale?
I have no idea. At the moment they belong to karlovo and I cant see anyone buying them unless the actual hotel itself gets an overhaul or better still gets demolished lol When I saw the apartments, it was hard to believe they bulit them onto such an old, horrible, ugly hotel, coz they are really nice inside and out .....We used the pool in the hotel next door, it was much nicer.
Trish
hopefully there will be a review page but not sure at the moment!
hi,
is ther any building work started in this area?
hi thomas.ive just got back from SB,theres building work all over the resort but its been suspended till the end of the season.theres no heavy plant and not really any mess.just loads of unfinished hotels and apartments.dont worry the resort is still buzzing and you 'll have a great time
We walked past the Sunny Day apartments 2 weeks ago and didn't see building work going on in the immediate surrounding area.
looking foward to going now.
