We have reviews
hi the malama holiday village is situated in kapparis which near protaras but not walking distance, there is a local bus service to get you about. it is a large complex with entertainers and 3 pools the only problem it has is it is secluded
we are booking into the Malama for a few nights,
I have heard first hand reports on how nice it is, I know a few families who have timeshare things here,,, I had a friend go and check it out for me, she said its very nice,
It is a bit out of the way actually in Kapparis but the bus runs to the roundabout not to far away from the Malama.. I am back around the 5th october if you can wait that long. for a report
The buses run quite late and just today i have found out that through the day the buses are starting to run past the Malama into Protaras.

Apartments are a good size - I had a two bedroom apt and had a bathroom and en suite shower room - very useful with 4 people. Good sized kitchen area and nice lounge. I am sure you will not be disappointed.
I stayed at the top end of the complex, near reception, tennis courts and the car park - there is a slope downwards to the pool, the further down the slope the nearer you are to the pool. A golf buggy collects your luggage and you and takes you to the apt.
It is a few kms to protaras. There is a mini market on site and one next to the complex. It is in the area of Kapparis. There are several bars and restaurants along the road - probably 10 - 15 all within fairly easy walking distance - ( no pavements near the malama up to the main road). There is an Orphanides Supermaket less than 5 mins drive away towards the town Parilimini, which is cheaper than mini markets. I would recommend having a car for a few days, we had one for about 10 days but probably didn't need one for that long.
My husband found two bars that had football on - Tony's and the OZone, so that was a bonus for us.
It is quite an eye opener seeing the border North/ South which is only a short dirve away, with the Soldiers on guard and UN personnel.
We always managed to find a sunbed at the Malama, even in Aug. There is a very large grass area with loads of sunbeds which was a relief, we never bothered to put the towell down at 9 am!! Food was ok at the complex but we prefered to eat out.
I was glad we stayed in the Kapparis area rather than the quite commericalised area of Protaras. I am sure you will have a great time. Any more quieries let me know.
I know the area well we have an apartment in Paralimni but due to family invading us we are moving out for 3 nights . lol
We are going to book the Malama a 1 bedromm garden suite with bed and breakfast,
I have been down to the beach but just cannot remember is it a pebble beach and what is the sea like for swimming in , We usually go to the Ayia Triada beach,
thanks Elizabeth
