Thanks Claire
A friend is looking at staying at the Hilton Jumeriah in October. She seems to have a price that is too good to be true. Can you tell me if there is a reason for this. I know there is construction going on around it so is it bad in any way?

Hi,
I think its because its Ramadam in October thats why your friend will get cheaper. Im off to work now which is near the hotel i will have a look on my way past to see what the construction is like. I will come back and tell you later on tonight.

Hi,
Sorry took so long to get back to you. We have just drove past this hotel half an hour ago. MY GOD!!!!! there is at least 50 towers being built, this hotel is surrounded by construction. I took 3 photos of whats going on around the hotel. If you want to PM me your email address i can send them to you. As i am not sure how to put on here.
On a brighter note as the hotel is on the beach it was very busy and nobody really bothered of what was happening around them.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. Im 100% sure your friend will have a great time in Dubai. Hope to hear from you soon.

Hi Claire.
We're coming back to Dubai in Feb, during the shopping festival, for my sister's 30th (another Claire!). She really likes Spectrum on One so as this is a busy time and her birthday is on a Thursday (also v busy i believe) how far in advance should i book to ensure we get in? I'm thinking to make sure i should book well before we travel?

Hi Claire

Well me and family are thinking of going to Dubai in early June next year. But my only problem might be the weather in Dubai, in early June.

I have been to Dubai once....that was in February...and the weather was pleasent. The sea was nice...though in deseart a bit windy and cold.

I dont mind the weather being hot...its just that i hope the sea and sand are not hot! As i enjoy swimming in the sea.
And also hope there are no sand winds in that month!!! I know for a fact that weather becomes very hot in July/Aug time...as some of my cousins have been that time.

Hi marcuschap72

In my opinion i think its best to book well in advanced. We traveled 2 years ago to India in Jan and come back with a stop over in Dubai in Feb...But made sure we booked everythink in advanced as most places become heavily booked!!

Also the flights become heavy booked....we booked our flights in September/October...for travel in Jan/Feb. The travel agent told us we were lucky that we booked in advanced as flights became booked so badly in December for travel in Feb.

Anyways hope this helps.

Hi marcuschap72,
I know the place well in the Fairmont. I would book well in advance. For a Thursday night anyway. Thats the weekend here!! When i have had friends over we go to the Friday brunch in there and i need to book so far in advance its unreal. So to make sure you get where you want i would say yes book it. Get a rough number of how many people are going then phone.Theres no harm in it anyway. Im sure you will have a great time. If you need me to get the phone number for you just ask. Have a great night out. As im sure you will. :glynis

Hi Deeps,
If your coming to Dubai the beggining of June it will be fine for you i personally dont find it to get uncomfortable until around July, August. In June it will be roughly 40c. Its not the heat to many people get bothered with its the humidity you cant walk down the street but you will be soaked its so high. As for the sand i was down at the beach Saturday just passed and it was great my friend and myself went for a swim and a walk along the beach. So in June you will be fine. As for the sand storms they can happen anytime. They only last for up to day. I dont think it will be a problem for you. If one does happen there are plenty of things indoors in Dubai you can do. Have fun.
