retuned this morning from sunny beach my first impression was WOW,the place was heaving.stayed 2 years ago and boy has it grown since then.and its still growing hotles going up to the north and south of the resort.with loads of apartments to the rear of the centre,
we stayed in teh sever/yug which was basic but clean, one or two people were complaining about dirty rooms but they were in the minority.
the food was very good in the evenings a realy good choice of about 12 set meals plus staters and desert, breakfast was not too bad ,they even take the shell out of the scrambled egg now.
drinks were cheap bottle wine 6lev<2lev down the shop>beer 2lev.chinese by the pool .happy hour 6-7pm 2 vodka / coke 3lev .all the staff were very friendly and helpful. On ythe beach paragliding 40 lev or 75 for 2people,jet ski 40 lev 15minutes,food and drink galore
Are they still doing those fanatastic cakes in the main bar and is the Indian still going at the pool bar ??
the cakes are still there but the indian has moved further east, its chinese now,the waitress's in the sever/yug are some of the prettiest girls you would wish to meet.iwould anyway.
stayed for 2 weeks, had a great time, went on a few excursions and best of all did not cost much, wife and kids loved it especially the shops, luckily there was usually a bar near by so i was happy to go with them
any questions please ask away

thanks for also writing a review on the Hotel Review forum.
glad you had a good holiday.
just a few questions if you dont mind... going out on the 9 sept to SB and its first time there.
What excursions are there to do ? and is there a market which is on everyday or just on one day if so which day? and where?
Because went to marmaris, turkey, this year and market day was on a thrusday so people told was to wait for that day because things are alot cheaper.
Also was your hotel anywhere near Yavor Palce , thats where we are staying.
thanks kel
Im heading to SB on the 3rd of September (can't wait!!!). Would you recommend anything in particular for people in their late teens/ early twenties? i.e. any good nightclubs, shops, etc?
Don't worry about clubs etc, there are a number in SB including Iceberg, Lazurs, you will see them advertised all over the place.
There is also one underneath the Hotel Kuban right in the main square, forgotten the name but it has an alien figure above the entrance.
We are going out on the 4th Sept. and are once again looking forward to it.

Hi kel
like most holidays we have been on, this was first choice, you get the chance to book a variety of trips on your welcome meeting with rep.
we went on 3,
bulgarian night, evening out to a local house you get food free wine and traditional folk dancing, £21 pp. not bad but very touristy!!
Sozopol by boat, 3/4 day, drip by bot to fishing town (1 1/2 - 2 hr each way) copule of hours in town to sight see, oh yes you get a beer and plate of chips in the price!!, £22pp. we found this a bit of a waste of a day, boat trip was ok, sunning ourselves on deck with a cold beer.
jeep safari, full day, this was one of the heighlights of our holls, off roading and messing about in the bulgarian countrside, you visit a 'traditional' bulgarian house, get refreshments, then in the afternoon you get lunch, and visit a 'brandy' distillary with free samples of course, be warned this is off roading you do get bounced around and tipped about, £29pp, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
other trips, lazy day cruise, 3/4 day trip, including transport, guide, lunch and drinks, on a sail boat, aound the bay and nessebar, £25pp
Saturday night live, typical reps night with all it entails, £12pp
Bougass trip, half day, quich guide of city then free time to shop!!, £9pp
these are jsut a few of the trips available, if you have an open mind and are willing to try it you should find sometning to please all, prices are per adult discount for children
hope this is of help

Did you book all your trips with the reps as would think of the jeep safari but was told last year it was not very good we are going out with first choice holidays and have never been with them before always been with balkan tours from Belfast.
yes we booked through first choice, there are places around SB that you can book with though, i suppose it is all up to what you expect, also your driver!!, ours was a bit of a nut!!!, saying that we i never felt in danger and he knew what his jeep was capeable off, as i said we thought it was a great day out
enjoy your hols
