The weather can go either way at that time of year. I have had a week with full sun and the opposite. Most larger bars & Reastaurants are open, just the smaller ones not. Also, the number of beds on the beach is limited, although the wind breaks tend to be up to stop any winds.

Weather slightly inland generally more reliable in April than on the coast - also slightly warmer. Should get plenty of sunshine with temperatures into the low 70s some days but it can be one of the wettest months of the year.

We stayed in the Torremolinos beach club hotel in april this year, the weather was lovely mid 70s for the whole 2 weeks although it was windy on some days, the only thing that was cold and i mean cold were the hotel swimming pools. All of the tourist attractions and most shops and bars were open.

Torremolinos in April is usually lovely. I agree that the wall to wall sunshine cannot be guarenteed but everything else is just right. By that I mean that everywhere that counts is open and nowhere is rammed. You can get around without the hustle and bustle (and HEAT) of the Summer. I would recommend going in April.
