Just come back today from the Queen Resort at Gumbet. I would definitely agree with Gaynor's review. The Apartment's are finished to a very high standard. Ours was a faultless twin bedded apartment with a balcony overlooking the pool. The lounge dining area had plenty of room with 2 good sofas provided. Satellite Tv with Sky News and Eurosport on a plasma screen is also provided. These apartments are all double glazed and set well back from the main road. This is a big advantage if you like early nights or have young children as this resort can be lively till around 1am.
The swimming pool is a good size with plenty of sunbeds. They have a reasonably priced poolside Bar and Restaurant with a plasma screen and Sky Sports. The pool can be used till 8pm, but there is no lifeguard on duty or shallow end in the main pool. They also have a small shallow pool for young children.
If you want air conditioning there is a charge of £15 per week for either the Lounge unit or Bedroom unit. We thought that if you are a Couple you only need the one air conditioning unit in the lounge, as you can leave the bedroom door open. The Lounge unit is more efficient than the bedroom unit which we found froze the bed when turned on. There is also a charge for using the Safe that is provided in the apartment. The complex is very secure as they have staff on duty 24/7 and the only way into the complex is through the main foyer which is always staffed.
Everybody we spoke to was full of praise of these apartments and thought they deserved a 4 star rating. The staff are really helpful and are extremely tolerant with a good sense of humour. The whole complex is extremely clean and tidy and well laid out. Our flight left late at night but we were allowed to keep our room for an additional 12 hours till 10pm for just under £20.
We had a great holiday in Gumbet at the Queen Resort and would recommend this holiday to anyone
