Can you tell me how you know for certain? It's just that I have a friend from Turkey who has been making enquiries after hearing this rumour and so far she is getting feedback suggesting it is true.

If you think about it where on the datca penisular is there anywhere flat enough to land anything bigger than a stunt plane?? There were rumours ten years ago about this - there was going to be a new airport near the junction where the road turns to Marmaris ie 32kms north of Marmaris - last time i drove down there I didnt see any airport.

The rumours have been going for as long as I remember and the only place flat enough is around Gokova and seeing that it is a national park area I can't see them doing anything there for a long while.

Also they are building a new terminal at Dalaman and Turks do not throw money away.

Well hopefully the luggage will come a bit quicker and visa que wont be as bad in the new terminal!

the airport feasability study was completed and approved.the site was near Bordubet (yes bryn there is flat land high up over there) but it is now down to cost.i think that the larger terminal at dalaman and a new faster road link to Marmaris was a cheaper option.Yavas yavas and see what happens
