I think you may mean the famous Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art in Jerez which is quite a way from where you are staying. I believe they put on exhibition shows every Tuesday and Thursday but I think you might have to pre-book if you wanted to go as I've heard it's very popular.

They do a horse display when you get to the top of the cable car in Benalmadena

Whoops sorry. For some reason I thought you meant horse displays on a much grander scale. I'm also a little embarassed because it was only a month ago that I went up the cable car and saw the display at the top myself Although well performed, be aware that the show consists of just one man and two horses.

i would love to see one on a grander scale but will probably be too far to travel. What else happens at the top of this mountain or is it just a man and his horses!!!

You can also go a little higher up the mountain by donkey (make sure it's not a cross-eyed one), and watch some of the 60 birds of prey which live there (including vultures, eagles and peregrine falcons) strut their stuff.
If you're brave, you can also have your picture taken with a royal eagle on your shoulder. A trip not to be missed!
