Hi Colin.

Some people will never listen and learn will they.
Can you remember me showing you my husbands wallet? well, he has two and I use to borrow the smaller one.

Well, I got myself one (practise what you preach and all that)...bought the wallet/purse in Torremolinos, and had the local cobbler put a rivet hole in it, when I got home.... then I bought a couple of split rings, a "bulldog clip" and a bit of chain....and made it up within minutes.cost £4
Mine has a section for loose change...you know how us women like purses :D

The latest craze is to stand behind you and slit the bottom of your back pocket, then the wallet falls down and is whipped away...no need to even pick your pocket  ...

I urge people to keep your wallet in your FRONT pocket with a chain fastened to your trouser belt loop...and still only take a bit of money out per day.

Here`s my new wallet/purse...and this is going nowhere without me knowing. I`ve left the chain out to show you, that you have enough length to open the wallet and still keep it attached to the belt loop, but all the chain can be hidden in the pocket and only the clip will be visible....and not if you wear a shirt/top outside your trousers.

I can remember that topic before sanji and the picture of your husbands wallet pretty good idea, how does he go on in the day though I know alot of the shorts I have got for in the day do not have loops on them I always try to keep my hand on my wallet when walking in crowded places

Hi Craig.

Most of his shorts obviously have a pocket......and all of them have cords that you tie, to pull in the waistband...either inside the shorts or outside the shorts waistband....some have belt loops. :D
He just ties the cords in a knot or double bow, and then clips the bullgog clip onto the tied cord.

Hope that makes sense...it`s hard to explain.
When he wears his swimming trunks/shorts, on the beach.... he leaves his wallet in the safe and just takes a few euros out for a drink....same with me.

Talking about pickpockets, my friend phoned me today from finestrat, she went to the market this morning ,aware of pickpockets becouse it happened to me there in july, and she watched this bloke wrap a scarf around his arm then went into this girls bag, she shouted and he calmly walked away, they must be regulars, if they go there every week surely some of the market traders must recognise them, but i suppose there is not much they can do. :x

Just had a thought

If you have nothing to clip the bulldog clip too.

Then you just have to sew/make a loop on the waistband...this could be anything, just as long as it is sewn on well and secure, cos they would need wire cutters to get through the chain.!!!!

ahh yes I see Sanji was not doubting you in any way, just curious as to see how your hubby secured his wallet when wearing other shorts etc.. Good idea though!!!!

Graig hun :D

It`s more than a good idea......it`s essential as far as I`m concerned

It`s one less thing to worry about, and I can`t take credit for the idea....

The Spanish do it  and this is why the low life target the easy pickings of the British.

last month in Benidorm we went for a short walk along the seafront, only stopped for a minute to look at the sand sculptures, twenty minutes later my husband realised 20 euro note gone out of his side pocket of his shorts, always said this sort of thing would never happen to him.Beware of stopping to looking to look at the sand sculptures, keep your hans in your pockets.

To be honest it probably just fell out of his pocket, shorts pockets are useless. My eagle-eyed youngest is always finding notes on the pavements. She found 70 euros in one go last year! Funny thing was her mum saw her bend down to pick something up off the pavement and shouted "Put that down!" She's not stupid, she waited until her mum wasn't watching and then gave them to me, good girl!
(She found a twenty pound note in the vegetables at Sainsbury's last week!)

I remember a couple of years back walking past the Hotel accross from the Ambassador a gypsie boy was dancing around me playing a harmonica, luckily i`m pretty quick to spot something dodgy and noticed another gypsie stood on the pavement a few yards in front of me, straight away i knew what they were up to and made sure my wallet was still in my pocket before telling the young gypsie to go away in the international language (i.e. 2 words, the first starting with the letter`F` and the last word ending `FF`) he got the message :D

We've been here 2 weeks tomorrow and for the first time ever, we haven't seen one potato/pea men and we have walked the length of the Avda Mediterraneo and the promenade most days.

Strange.?

Hi Sanji,
I was in Benidorm a fortnight ago, and only saw them once on the promenade, an arrest was being made at the time. perhaps the police are finally cracking down on them!
Reply
I saw them on the prom for the first time ever on Friday 27th April.

I didn't want to stop ad watch though because of all the bad things i've heard about them!

Although this was not pickpocketing, a lady and gentlemen had their bag stolen as they waited in the Gran Hotel Bali for the resort hopper last Thursday. These opportunist thieves are every where. The hotel staff were helpful but as they had a plane to catch the elderly couple could not report the incident and the staff were too busy to look at the cctv. You must be careful.

think is what fines they get outways what they make.so a few hours later or next day, they are at it again.

top tip is never leave your cases or bags.outside a hotel.always make sure someone is touching the case.ie sitting on them...and never put them near the road..i have known lots of cases and bags taken,by people just walking passed the hotels.
