Hi Mark, yes you are spot on there mate, that saying is a really poimtless and meaningless thing to say that has become one of the more ridiculous urban myths regarding travel, I think only people with limited intellect can think in such a cut and dried way about anything, I am sure that you agree that normal rational balanced people experience all kinds of emotions not just love or hate.
Charliegirl, I am ok now, it's amazing how a couple of handfulls of valium or prozac washed down with cognac lifts the spirits
, you are of couse right in what you said, realistically one can attach this pointless saying to anywhere or thing in the whole wide world, so it therefore can't be exclusive to Malta.
Dave, you have obviously experienced many different things in Malta, from the bad, the good, the indifferent (there's afilm title here somewhere copyright Sliema2) and by your comments with regards to the history the amazing and we agree with you fully on the history mate, surely this is what travel is all about, life as we all know is not a constant bowl of cherries, things do go wrong no matter where one is in the world, but different things are what makes travel so enjoyable, experiencing other peoples cultures etc, no one has to love it, accept it or even hate it, but to experience it is the main thing.
Pojo, glad you like Greece, so do we it's fantastic and can't wait to return one day, out of interest which of the Greek islands have you been to ??.
To summarise, no one should really get upset about genuine opinions good or bad, but when those opinions are based on nothing more than hearsay, speculation and urban myth, then whats the point in making them in the first place, usefull travel information is about fact not fiction ?.
Regards to you all
Sliema2
Ps, Mark we should hopefully fingers crossed be in Ghawdex a week today, so who knows if we get time to pop in to Gleneagles then we may bump in to you
