Being a recent convert to the short city break, Ive now done Rome (loved it to bits) and Budapest (glad I went for the experience but probably wouldnt go again) Im now looking for number 3.
This is where you guys come in. Where next ? And why ?
Thanks in advance.
Paris - easy to get to and around
Brussels - very clean and pleasant
Venice - superb for long weekend just walking and people/city watching
New York - it just buzzes
the list is endless. Maybe give us a clue as to what interests you. My wife and I can only do long weekends due to medical problems.
Good luck

http://www.galinsky.com/buildings/reichstag/ cafe society, great restaurants and shopping (on the K'Dam). Also, depending on what you're into you've got the New National Gallery and the Bauhaus Archive.
It's also cheap to get there and to eat and drink!
I agree with you about Budapest, really enjoyed visiting but would probably not rush back. Paris is always a joy to visit, love it. Prague I enjoyed and am going back in November, but only as my other half couldn't make the first trip there. New York is great but you do need longer than a weekend there.
How about the new Ryanair routes to places like Riga in Latvia and Oslo(depends on where in the UK you're flying from of course).
Happy planning
I'd recommend Berlin, we'll certainly go back there, it's a great combination of history, architecture (Sir Norman Foster's glass dome on the Reichstag is well worth going to the top of It's also cheap to get there and to eat and drink!

There's loads to see and do - we need to go back at some point as we didn't get a chance to do all the things we wanted to.
Been to Prague too - but I feel the same way you about Budapest, I wouldn't go again.
Berlin is next on our list as reading on here it seems well worth a visit.
Its a toss up between Berlin and Krakow, looks like I may have to go twice !
But, when I mentioned the shopping of Barcelona, the wifes eyes lit up !
Anyway, wherever it turns out to be a big thanks to all of you.
This is interesting. We now have a City Break every year. We have been to Paris, Amsterdam, Rome and this year we are off to New York. We are thinking of going to either Sorrento or Toronto next year. So many places to visit and not enough lifetime.
It can become a bit addictive as totp and myself know!! Its so much better than just lazing in the sun for two weeks so I still do like that too! Gives you a little taste of the country without too much hassle or time to get a bit tired of it. And the list is almost endless!! Krakow here I come!!
Too true Coininban It's so tempting with all the low cost carriers around! I'm only sorry I dithered on flights for £28.00 inlcuding taxes from Liverpool to Riga (Latvia), by the time (next morning) I went to book they'd gone to £75.00!
