We fly Liverpool - Malaga with easyJet four or five times a year and always use the train from Malaga airport to Benalmadena. Last time (Sept 2005) we were unable to use the usual bridge from the airport to the train station because of building work at the airport.

There is another bridge from the upper floor of the short stay car park to the train station. It is a walk of around 200 metres (mainly downhill) from the car park to the station. There are about a dozen steps up to the railway station platforms.

Hi Vic. Absolutely no hassle getting to the train station from Malaga airport. Luggage trolleys at the various carousels are free in the Arrivals hall, so park your case on one of them, head on through to the ground-floor area, get the lift a floor up to Departures, then head outside.
When you hit the sunshine, keep going right and you'll find yourself on the narrow walkway that leads to the unmanned station (seven minutes away). Get your ticket there at the automatic dispenser, and leave your trolley before heading up the small flight of stairs (no lift) to the platform.
Trains to Torremolinos and Fuengirola depart on the side you arrived at. The other platform is for Malaga.
Couldn't be simpler!

Your route past the taxi rank was closed off last month for building work. The only way open was to go up in the lift to the upper floor of the short stay car park and across a temporary bridge to the station.
