there are other bars about that you could have tried , Theos and PB's spring to mind if you're into karaoke, also Happy Days is good if you want to watch the footy while you're away ,
as for the fly problem , it's not just Roquetas that suffers , it's the whole area that is surrounded by the acres of greenhouses
glad you liked the Portobello, can't be bad when you get a 5 star hotel at those prices
cheers
Stu
I feel lucky to be in Mojacar as we have very little fly trouble being far away from the greenhouses. We also dont have many mossies as I havent seen one since around the end of June.I travelled yesterday with a couple who had stayed at Vera Playa and they were plagued with them.Vera is only 10km away so again very lucky.Im sure Mojacar will have its own downsides though!.John.
Hi Im not saying that the place is not nice ,just a bit quit for me.People who live there think it is great and I met a few folks who were looking for property there. We did go to Theos bar on Sunday night and saw a great show that was very funny. If you want a quit place to retire to you cant go wrong here.Just would miss the trees myself, then again thats my job.
i too was at the portabello after being upgraded and it was a really lovely hotel but i have to say that the food towards the end of the week we were there was really not too good, we ended up eating out on the last three nights. when i spoke to the rep she told me that they had brought the chef from the golf trinidad to cook the food so we appear to have had 3 star food!!! but that didnt really matter as for once my travel did a great job for us and it was so cheap too that i think they deserve a well done instead of the usual moaning about them. would like to go back to the resort when it is a bit busier but we had a good time anyway.
Yes and the dineing room did not seem to match the rest of the hotel.I was expecting somthing a little more flush for a five star.Great holiday though and dead cheap to.
i agree that the dining room was a disapointment but there was another more plush one that the spanish seemed to be using in the evenings. i thought the highlight of the hotel was the swimming pool although i wouldnt want to be there when the hotel is full as i would imagine that there is vey little space around the pool.
