did you pay for the 'E' ticket (that wasn't) with a credit card ?

If so, bounce the problem onto the card issuer - section 75 credit card act (can't remember the full name) places an equal burden upon the card issuer (togther with their merchant) to guarantee the quality/suitability of the product/service - providing the item is £100 or more.

This will freeze the value on your card, you won't pay interest on the value and the credit card company will sort the matter for you.

whilst researching some info for another complaint I found the ATOL site - link is below

This page will tell you that ...... All air travel firms must by law EITHER give you a valid ticket as soon as you pay (or within 24 hours max.) OR protect your booking by ATOL.

First Choice have an ATOL number of 0230 (First Choice Travel are numbered 5251).

So, you should contact ATOL to seek a refund. This link

If all else fails sue First Choice via the small claims court

tells you how to proceed. You can do the whole thing on the internet but I would write by recorded delivery to First Choice beforehand warning them of your intent to sue unless they refund you in full within, say, 7 days.
