For all those who are searching for the best deal do not be put off by the price in the brochure. I have just done a search comparing prices for two holidays I have booked for next year. Prices shown are for two people and include transfers, meals on plane and fuel surcharges.

I have booked All Inclusive £960 with small TO
1st October Luca Laura Beach, Paphos, Cyprus
Two quotes both with well known TOs
£1770 & £1898 - one of these is on the same flight as us
I have booked at £1374
I keep reading postings complaining that prices are reduced after booking or seem to be so expensive. If people are savvy enough to research on HT then they should spend a little time searching for the bargains. Get the brochures and spend some time during these long winter evenings. That is what I did and found a small TO who gave me what I wanted, but it is still fun looking up how much I have saved. The prices from the big boys are after the online booking discounts so what are you doing paying through the nose?

When you want a family holiday, 2 kids and 2 adults it is the only way to find a good deal.
We booked a cruise for next October and searched for days/hours before booking. I cant wait to see when we go on it, just how many people paid the full whack

Fwh, I am all for saving money, but do you have any evidence that if you go for the cheaper deals/smaller TOs etc, you might end up with the worst rooms e.g. noisy, facing the dustbins etc?
That is what would put me off risking it.
I just wondered how the hotels allocate their rooms and whether room size/being next to the lift/aspect etc. cost different prices to the TOs which they then pass on (or not) to their customers?
If there is no difference in room quality, then I'm all for it!

I have not had that problem. I note that many of the big TOs now charge extra ( I saw one at £250 ) for sea view. Food and facilities are the same. Flights often are the same. There are a lot of small firms who only specialise in Greece or Cyprus for example. Someone once said that a firm that traded out of an industrial estate could not be any good. Many of these call centres are also on industrial estates. With the big companies you are paying for that posh office block where the senior management are, not where the workers are. Provided that they are ABTA or ATOL bonded then you know your not going to be stuck in a foreign country. The places I have stayed with the firm I am with have also got the big TOs going there. Question is at the prices you are being asked to pay for some holidays can you afford not to shop around?

As you say, the savings probably outweigh any potential faults with the deal. And the TOs do charge extra for sea view already, don't they!
