I just didn't want members to post any personal details such as email and dates/exact locations of holidays, purely a safety issue.

My daughter put together a website and you can send out an enquiry and the owner if he/she has availability will contact you.
I have met several of the owners and seen several of the villas and I would be happy with any of them.

The villa must have a pool and spa, a good games room, outdoor BBQ facilities and good sunbathing options (for days off from the parks). Also will be looking for good fitness/gym on site. And obviously a good location close to disney and restaurants.
If anyone can help, would be very much appreciated. Thankyou.
It had a fantastic communal pool with a lazy river, water chute and club house. It also had a spa / fitness center and (small) community games room/ internet access area.
There was also a shuttle bus to the Disney parks, but we did not make use of it.
The town house had 4 good sized bedrooms (2 ensuite, and the other 2 shared one) There was a loo, kitchen and a living/ dinning room downstairs. It also had an upstairs balcony, patio doors down stairs.
There is a Publix supermarket, and a few takeaway/ restaurants next to the Regal Palms resort. The nearest (huge) Walmart is ten minutes drive and it is only a very straightforward 20 mins drive from WDW (could be less now as a new access road has opened).
It was cheaper than alot of villas, plus more sociable for the kids.
I have posted some photos in the Photogallery section (under Florida !) if you want to take a look at the house & resort and I also did a 'Hotel' review.
Hope this does not come over as a sales pitch - I have no connections with the owner whatso ever - we just had a really good time there
I can certainly recommend orlandovillas. The owners John and Roger police the site very vigorously. Each owner is required to verify their villa twice a year by faxing a utility bill showing the villa address. This is to prove that the villa is privately owned and not one of many that is rented out by big management companies.
hi all, jdybnsn, regal palms sounds great.we have booked flights for next may/june and are looking for accommodation.could you tell me if there was a poolside bar available there and if so what time was it open till?we are not alkies by the way!!it's just that the last but one time we stayed in orlando we stayed at a place called fantasy world villas and we loved the atmosphere around the pool at night.plenty of people to talk to,dakari's from the late night pool bar and my aching feet in the jacuzzi!!the only problem was that the accommodation wasn't brilliant.don't get me wrong,i would stay there again but we stayed at the bahama bay resort last time and the condos there are fab!no one around the pools at night though!and no bar!i like to stay at different places though so i'm hoping someone can help..i'll stop waffling now thanks for any help
There is a club house at Regal Palms which over looks the pool area and has terracing out onto it......just how much the terraced area is used at night I'm sad to say we never found out .... due to a combination of tired kids (and parents !) and dark evenings (we went in February), which made us less inclined to go out of an evening.
There is a (hot !) Jacuzzi pool side; if being boiled alive is your thing (OK... I exaggerate slightly).
If you want a contact for the townhouse owner we used, PM me - I'm sure they would be able to answer specifics better than me.
thanks jdybnsn,i am a bit of a jacuzzi freak!!still looking at the moment but i will pm you if interested..thanks again
There is so much choice it feels like we're going round in circles. Where are the best places to stay. Your help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
No matter where you stay all the villas are nice, if you want security go for a gated community, Windsor hills is gated and new and close to everything, we have just returned from Oak iskland cove this wasnt gated but we felt safe, didnt even think about security while we were there. Emerald island is a popular one too.
Thanks Liz.

Have you looked at any of the sites I have recommended?

Honestly though the winter months in the UK are a great time to visit.
I am currently looking at townhouses and condos for my vacation. I have received quotes for a townhouse in Emerald Island and also for a condo in Windsor Palms. I have stayed in Emerald Island before and I liked the facilities, but I do not know much about Windsor Palms. Has anyone stayed there before? Are they both about the same distance to disney/universal. The condo is working out about £100 cheaper (going for 3 weeks). Just trying to get an idea of which accommodation/resort would be better. We are a family of 4 and my 2 kids are 15 and 12.
As mentioned we are going out for 3 weeks, but I was thinking about staying somewhere like clearwater/st petes bay for a week, any recommendation on accommodation/locations would be great as I am not familiar with the area. Someone mentioned to me that townhomes/villas are more difficult to rent and much more expensive, so would we be better off in a hotel? Also if we stayed in these areas how long would it take us to go to Busch Gardens in Tampa?
Many Thanks
Keanda
missing Orlando already took my nephew he hasn't stopped talking about it anyhow he has convinced his parents and his uncle and aunt's family to go next year in Feb or march I'm looking for a 5 or 6 bedroom villa that can accommodate 11 to 12 of us (not on sofa bed) off the 192 as there are 3 families going so far and have checked out loads of sites some with a very wide range of prices, some really expensive if anyone can recommend someone who owns such a property please let me know as most would prefer to book direct with themselves and not through the management companies. thanks
orlandovillas have a 5, 6 or 7 bed section.
Hope you see some you like if you haven't booked already! We bought a villa from them a year and half ago and we had previously stayed in theirs, pure luxury and all so big, especially the ones in Legacy Park!
