Hi we have booked a villa in the area of Chanec which is about an hour from La Rochelle.
We are really struggling as we want to fly ( we need to fly from the north west)
The best prices we have are £800 with bmi baby to bordeaux - expensive i think but we have to travel on sat 8th july and return on sat 22nd july.
I cannot seem to get a better deal other than with air france but this means a change at paris.
We will be hiring a car and have considered driving from paris as easyjet etc fly quite cheaply to there - would this be wise ( 2 kids in tow)
Would anyone have any ideas on how else to get there i.e cheaper airlines/ferries/routes
I have various airports both in uk and France - poitiers la rochelle etc but cant seem to get any where.
Please help
Thanks

It's a long haul from Paris to anywhere - once you've dealt with the periferique and motorway tolls.
I'd see if you can get a flight nearer - do Ryanair still go to Bergerac or am I completely out of touch? - and then hire a car. Don't forget that all civil servant France (and in particular Parisiens as well) goes on holiday on 14th July and you really could do with as little road hassle as possible! Good luck ... and you may find Holiday Autos can do you a good deal from your foreign airport, but you can book over the net in the UK.

Thanks I've checked on Ryanair and inded we can fly from Liverpol to Bergerac - flying from Liverpool is better than Manchestre as it is only 7 miles away.
The drive to Chenac will take only an extra 30 mins - but who cares!
Thanks again you saved me £220!!
