The Bulgarian coastal resorts, such as Golden Sands, Sunny Beach and Albena are packed with shops and stalls selling reasonable fakes.
Hope this helps.

Yes but the Bulgarian markets aren't a patch on the Turkish ones at all!!!!
Also Tunisia at Sousse medina. it is full of fake designer labels, trainers, bags and sportswear. Trainers are good fakes as bought some home myself for the kids
Hang fire all you shopaholics!!! All the places listed in the above posts with the exception of Tunisia have problems with bird flu ...................
You can get some great real fakes there if that's your thing.
I went to Egypt- to Sharm El Sheik two years ago. I went shopping while there with a fake bag i bought in Turkey for £15. the designer initials were LV. i went into a handbag shop where they had lots of fakes with the same name as mine- the guy who ran the shop actually thought my bag was an original and that i must have paid hundreds of pounds in England for it!! He had a really good look at it and was still convinced it was real!! so that is how good the Turkish fakes are. The bags i saw in Egypt were very obvious fakes and i never bought any- which is very unusual for me!!
I am looking for a holiday similar to turkey. Any suggestions?
I have heard some people say Bulgaria is a bit like Turkey- i personally did not like Bulgaria- but that doesnt mean others wont like it, we all like different things. I could see some things were similar- and thats probably why some people compare them. There is a Bulgaria forum- you may find some info on there. I just think i have been a bit spoiled by my love for Turkey- and no where else seems to match up!!! Heather.

1. Bulgaria (as yet) has no cases of Avian Flu reported, however the situation is being closely monitored due to the large amount of migratory birds which rest at the Danube and also it's proximity to affected countries.
2. The majority of fakes which are on sale in the Bulgarian Black Sea resorts all come from Turkey.
3. If you go to the Turkish Market in Varna it does indeed sell Turkish fakes, sold by Turkish people.
4. This thread was started in response to a question regarding shopping, and not bird flu................hence the posters replied accordingly.
Sorry, don't normally "bite" but the Avian flu thing has just got me going
Anyway Claireo51, regardless of where you decide to go I hope you have a great time and happy shopping.
