We want 2 guidebooks for our forthcoming trip to China - a general one with a history on China overall etc and then another on Hong Kong as we'll be on our own there. I've had a quick look at the Time Out Guides but they were last updated in 2004 and I want something more recent.
Anyone got any good recommendations?
I've heard the the Rough Guide have brought out a new one on China but I've not seen it yet. Anyone used it?
Thanks
Dawn
My daughter gave me the national geographic traveler CHINA when we went, £14,99 which was quite good. And its not to big
It's a little difficult for publishers to stay current cause china is changing everyday.
try Lonely Planet's Thorn Tree Forum. Lots of good info there.

have you thought about looking on ebay?
Thanks - we ended up with the new Rough Guide one as that has only recently been published. Some of them havent't been updated for a couple of years.
