Does anyone have experience of the public transport in an around Sunny Beach?
How reliable are the local buses? Are there any trains? Anything to beware of?
Cheers
Alio
Buses are fine & very cheap, when I was there last I went to Bourgas, Nessebar & Varna by bus with no problems. No railway station in Sunny Beach, as far as I recall, but there is one in Bourgas.
Just be aware that the presence of relatively 'rich' tourists attracts pickpockets to the resorts, some of whom target said tourists on public transport and elsewhere - so keep your valuables safe.
As baldur says the local buses are very very cheap the only thing he missed is they are also very busy especially late at night so make sure if you are in Nessebar that you get in the queue at the stop early enough as there is usually a mad scramble for the bus when they arrive
Baldur and Mondeo
last year we went from sunny beach to nessebar and it cost 60 stinkies from by the vic palace. it was the same price to the centre of sunny beach also. in nessebar it was a fight to get on the bus no matter who was first in the queue.we went to the front of the bus rather the middle and got on without problems.
just remembered taxi was about 20lev each way
