Wow this discussion forum is so helpful in planning holidays!
Planning our first trip to Goa for April 06 and was considering staying at the Royal Palms Resort in Bemaulim. Have read some reviews and it seems to be a good hotel.
However, bit concerned that the South might be too quiet by the beginning of April. Would beach shacks still be open at this time?
We've also considered the Marinha Dourada but bit concerned that the lake would mean lots of mosquitoes - is this a problem at this hotel?
In April Benaulim will still have its beach shacks open and is a lovely place......The marina Dourada is said to be a very good hotel but you may want to check out their current building work....as for mozzies.....its humid in April so there will be plenty of them so splash on the repellant.
Will check out previous threads regarding bulding work. Presume that building work will be more common at the end of the season anyway.
My wife and I stayed in Royal Palms for 2 weeks in October 2005 thru timeshare. Basic but only used it as a base. AC was noisy but no complaints until checking out, the extra charge for electricity equiv of £50 left a sour taste!! The Palms has nice gardens, good sized pool, free pool towels, 100 channels on the TV incl Star sports. Helpful reception and good security on the gate.
Really enjoyed Benaulim Nice friendly waiters and Bar Staff in the shacks and the restaurants. The beach is clean beautiful sunrise and sunsets am returning in April this time staying privately.
Any more information you need just ask.
Steve
