I wouldn't say it's a 'bad' side but what some people might not like is the quietness of the Island. (I prefer quiet nowadays )

Friends of mine have been there during the off peak season ie May and both groups of couples found it too quiet for them.

You should choose your resort carefully to suit your family needs.

I think it's a great island for couples, or families with small children. Teenagers could be bored. There aren't any big groups of singles which makes the island very suitable for families with young children.

I agree, if you want a rowdy, noisy destination then Menorca is probably not for you

My children were about thirteen and fifteen when we went to Santo Tomas (the quietest of all the resorts) and they weren't bored, they made friends with others of a similar age and had a great holiday.

I can imagine though that some teenagers would be bored.

Also, it's quite expensive if you're self-catering.

Personally, I think that the resorts up and around Cuitadella arent very nice at all, more like tacky seaside places.

I think if you want any sort of quality, then avoid these.

Like others have said it might be a little quiet for some. It depends what people want from a holiday. There are no resorts like Magaluf in Mallorca or San Antonio in Ibiza for example and even Cala'n Forcat which is one of the more commercialised resorts by Menorcan standards is still really a family resort.

We went to Menorca 3 years ago and stayed at the Hotel Cala Blanca,in Cala Blanca.The hotel had a mix of age groups and lots of children from tots to teenagers.It was early May and the hotel seemed to cater for children.The bus stopped outside the hotel and it was only 10minutes to Ciudella.It was in the Airtours brochure but we only booked a few weeks before we went and got a great deal.
