i wouldnt worry,i would go there tomorrow, not that ive stayed there, but stayed at the el paso in october and walked past the caribe.you get a mini train free of charge up to the theme park which is fantastic, also the 3 hotels which are part of the theme park, ie hotel port aventura, costa caribe and el paso do a dine around scheme where you go to reception,eg and say that you want to eat at eg. the restaurant at the port aventura hotel and they will book it for you and give you vouchers for 12euros for adults 6 euros for children.there is entertainment every night at the hotel elpaso which is only 5-10 mins walk from you or get the mini train.in booking the caribe hotel you are actually entitled to use the facillities of all three hotels just show your key card.my kids are desperate to go back but unfortunatley we are a bit broke at the moment.another thing depending how may are going its a big saving on theme park admission,if i was going with my family for a week it would cost £220 for 1 week 2 adults 4 kids. mo :)

I agree with mobeckwith,

I stayed in the El Paso last year, but had a really good look round the Caribe, (pools, restaurants, lounges, but not the rooms) incase I wanted to go back sometime and could get a good deal there. It looked very nice the pool area was pretty and not too crowded.

I wouldnt worry, I would say the three theme park hotels are of a high standard and you can use the facilities of all of them. The caribe is the furthest away from the park but it is still walkable and also there is a mini train.

I'm sure you will have a great time, my kids want to go back. :D

You and (more importantly !!) the kids will love it. Lovely pools, nice food, decent rooms, short flight, quick transfer from Reus airport and daily entry to a superb theme park. Pretty much the perfect family holiday. If only Salou was a nicer town....

i agree about salou, but we only went in one day and it took us an age to walk into the town,i didnt realise that the place was so big,you just keep walking and walking but it seems like a lifetime un till you see the sea.having said that i would be prepared to give it another go.we spent a cloudy day on the beach, but the kids loved it,also the beach bar we found was ace, then we got caught in a thunderstorm, very impressive,so we had lunch in a bar at the far end of the beach(not the harbour end but we enjoyed it anyway).at the hotel caribe, and other theme park hotels, its like you are in another place anyway.

We stayed for a whole week and never went into Salou once. We did go to the beach for the day but we went to somewhere called Tarragona that had a brilliant beach and was a lovely old Spanish town. Port Aventura and it's hotels have their own railway station. You get the train from there and it's either one or possibly two stops to Tarragona (5 to 10 mins on the train). Its the same train that will eventually take you on to Barca. (about 1hr20mins)

As my kids seem to want to go back, next time I will venture into Salou to see what I am missing. Enjoy. :D
