Hi, im going to Malaysia for my honeymoon in July for 3 weeks returning on 5th August and would love some info from anyone who's been.
I understand that the east of Malaysia is the dryest in July with the west sharing the same monsoon times as Thailand.
My plans were to go to Kuala Lumpur for 3 nights then to Taman Negara for 3 nights then to Langkawi and finishing in Pangkor Laut for 4 nights.
I would love to hear from anyone whos been to Langkawi and Pangkor Laut during the rainy season (May to Oct) and let me know your experience of the weather.
Im considering ruling out Langkawi & Pangkor Laut all together and sticking to the east coast. Been looking at Redang & Tioman Islands. Anyone been? Can you tell me what to expect from the weather and the Islands or has anyone got any recommendations of where to stay/go on the east coast?
Thanks for your help on this

weather in Malaysia. Click on the specific destination. On the destination page you will find something called "trip planner" - add your dates and it will give you the best indication of what to expect.
I have only been to Malaysia( Penang) in April so can't help I'm afraid.
Here is a great website for I have only been to Malaysia( Penang) in April so can't help I'm afraid.
Thanks for your reply. I have looked at this site you have recommended but there is no data held for Langkawi for the dates I have selected.
Thanks again
We also stayed for three nights in Taman Negara, but that was in February. We saw some rain then it should be better in July. But you are right in the rainforest so fair chance of some rain.
Have not been to Pangkor Laut, but have stayed on the nearby island of Pangkor. (They're a couple of mile apart). Stayed in Feb so can't comment on the weather for the July period.
