My general advice would be look in the holiday brouchers and forums and see which resorts are marketed the most. Have a look at which one you think most suits yourself and your intended rental clients. This is a general rule of thumb if buying to rent in ANY country. You have to know where your potential market wants to stay and generally it is where the tour operators use. Good luck.

Thanks Spook. We are leaning towards Sa Coma/Cala Millor/Porto Cristo cos I think this will suit the family market.

The family market is the obvious one to go for, but your rental opportunities will be generally restricted to school holidays.

Arguably it may be better to consider the golfing market. You will tend to get a longer rental season (August is quite for golfers as it is too hot), and a better clientele. I mean no disrespect by that, only to say that in my experience middle aged golfers will tend to treat a property better than families with young children.
