Hi all,
I'm racking my brains trying to decide on where to go this year and I'm hoping someone might be able to help.
Myself and my husband have around 10 days in July (ideally something like 26th July to 5th August). We are not big sunworshipers -in fact my husbands idea of a nightmare would be a sunbathing holiday. While I like a little heat, both of us avoid humidity. We are not 'resort' type people as DH gets bored very easily. We are not big into clubbing and I would say that a major influence in chosing our destinations is good food. One BIG factor for us to consider is that I am a very strict vegetarian and do not eat, meat, fish, chicken or cheese. We are quite big fans of the US (food factor) but we only have 10 days and I don't want to waste time with very long flights so we would be limited to the West coast and
Past holidays which we have enjoyed are Las Vegas x2, Alaska cruise, South Africa honeymoon, Western Caribbean cruise, New York, Albuferia Portugal -with friends).
The holiday we least enjoyed was Italy - getting a meal without meat AND cheese was an absolute nightmare!
Any ideas for fussy travellers??
I would possibly suggest India - a haven for veggies - but that may be too long a trip for you ?????
I considered Egypt (lots to do / see) but temperatures in July are too extreme for us and unfortunately we are prety much stuck with tose dates this year.
Any more suggestions welcome!
We went in July last year,we aren't sun worshippers either.Yes the temperatures are extremely high(reaching 50 when we where there).
If you cover up with cotton clothing, wear a hat drink plenty of water and have a decent hand held fan you would have a fantastic time. We hardly had time to sit in the sun.
Food was brilliant and the Egyptians are only too happy to cater at your request.
Try Catolonian France and Spain lots of properties to rent or even go in a mobile home with Haven or Eurowotsits lots of restaurants with good veggie alternatives even the food stalls by the harbours
