We are leaving for Goa on the 2nd March for our first time.
We will be staying at the Aldeia Santa Rita in Candolim.
Just wondered if anybody could answer some questions for a
first timer!
1. Is there anywhere you shouldn't haggle?
2. Any idea what the superior rooms are like at this hotel?
3. Any Goan restaurants and chinese/cantonese restaurants to be recommended?
4. Any recommended cocktails or drinks for a girl who doesn't liked beer or lager?
5. Best trip to go to for Wildlife Photography?
Thanks in advance for any help
here

1) If you are buying gold or diamonds as it will just mean you get inferior products.
2) Dunno
3) The chinese between candolim and calangute cant remember the name but its opposite babutes bar. Excellent. The one at the end of beach road is not so hot.
4) Cocktails we have had have been horrible, however my wife swears by the banana lassi, not alcaholic but very nice.
5) Depends on what you want but the trip to the waterfalls will allow you to see loads of monkeys, the elephant trip will show the elephants, dolphin trip etc etc However we went on the crocodile trip down the river (johns boat tours in candolim) saw loads of different birds, bats etc and a crocodile

Peter
Really looking forward to going.
I will certainly look out for the Chinese!
Any type of wildlife photography interests me so I suppose there
will be lots of options open to me.
Thanks again!
Not sure whether you like bird life too? There an amazing amount of different and colourful birds compared to back home. Parakeets,bee-eaters,kingfishers, kites and harriers. If you are interested it's well worth getting yourself a bird book when you get here. The one I bought last year was RS495 about £6.

Cheers
There are two Chinese restaurants virtually opposite one another. One's called Just Chinese, can't remember what the other is called nor can I remember whether this is the name of the one we liked best but we preferred the one on the opposite side of the road to the beach, didn't look as posh as the other (no twinkling lights outside) but much better food.
Hi Lin, get chilly to tells us all about that honey bee cocktail she has down at fishermans, i think she said it was call Shiva or something like that, i forgot how she said it was made and i'm dying to try it.
Ooooh cannot wait to try the different drinks.
A taste of china in Candolim is excellent. Walk past the jazz house and its on the corner leading down to the sports bar.
..hi katie p....think the name of the chinese opposite the one you named is the rice bowl ....the food it very good and the staff cant do enough for you ......hope this jogged your memory...
