Hi Paul. If you take a trip to the capital (panjim) they have a few a/c shops, and they are cheaper than back at home. Think we saw Nike, Reebok and a few others. We usually stay in baga/calangute and the last time we went to panjim to go shopping it cost about 700 rupees there and back.
Shops are ok and all originals, but stock at this time of year tends to be low but you should pick up a few things.
Hi, yeah there is a lacoste shop between candolim and calangute however it is much the same price as in the uk £40 for a polo etc. And to be honest that goes for the levi shops and the others
We go to Panjim first and then to the other shops if we cannot get want we want. They will also call the other shop for you if you ask them.
We also use the Levi shop in Panjim and there is a Reebock shop on the second floor. I bought a t-shirt from there last year and that was 700 ruppees and some pink trackie bottoms which were 1500 reppees (and have not seen at home).
I suggest taking a half empty suitcase and filling up over there. However remove the labels/take out of packaging as if your case is searched you may be charged the duty - this happened a couple of years ago to some friends of mine and they ended up paying over £200 at the airport. Also post the receipts to yourself at home!
We went to the la coste shop in Panjim in Dec 04 and got 3 men's polo shirts, a mens shirt , a baby polo shirt and a fitted top for myself and it came to £76 for the lot. Also got a Levis button up blouse for £5 and a Nike polo shirt for £6.
went to the lacoste shop next to the nizmar in calangute where we were stayin last year and polo's were around £18 each very cheap compared to uk where they are £55.not loads of colours but a few choices..ended up buying around 8 polo's and a couple of button down shirts..all the real mc'coy..go on lacoste's website and it tells you where the shops are in goa...going back to stock up in 2 weeks time-
Levi jeans £28 all from the calangute shops, The Panjim stores didnt have as much selection, the jeans for men are all 34" inside leg but they have a decent tailor at the Levi store who takes them up with original finish.
If you go to Panjim call in at a shop called Baron for some nice quality fakes , its worth a look.
Allan.
hi allanmarian the shop baron do they have a range of goods to buy or can you order what you like from the shop. thanks
They have a good range of readymade stuff not to sure on childrens clothes, they also have a range of men suits, perfumes, aftershave, tiepins cufflinks, dolls, etc.
If you ask to look at a shirt about a hundred will suddenly appear on the counter, but all the staff are great and you can have a good laugh with them.
Allan.
FYI was charge £46.00 for a polo shirt and button down short sleaved shirt. Not as cheap as it was got 6 polo and 2 kiddie polo's for about £100.00 3 years ago but still good value. Panjim is better than Calungute shop.
