Hi All,
I am staying at the CSM in Baga i April on a half board basis, & would like some first hand opinions on the food there. I have checked out the hotel reviews, but would like to hear of any specialities they do, or recommendations of what to try while staying there ?
Also, do they give you vouchers for your evening meal, or is it a case of signing after the meal ?
Anyone any preferences on which room No's to stay in ?
Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
Looking forward to your replies.
Besr regards
Stewbacca
You get vouchers and the food is excellent
Hi Martin,
hi stewbacca the food at csm is brilliant we stayed there overxmas and new year a year ago and the chef there was ace he did a lovely sweet and sour and put freshh chili in it for me and the dhal fry was the best i had tasted, and the b b q nights they had was ace i had the shark and another time i had the tandoori king prawns and another time i had the king fish, we never had 1 bad meal all the time we we,r there( 4 weeks) just give us an email if you want to know more maggieomx
Just back from a 2 week stay at the CSM also on half-board basis. The food served in the evenings was good (can't comment on breakfast as had too many late nights and never got up in time!). Only ate three times in the restaurant as I found the food in the beach shacks much better and its fun to try a different shack each night.
You'll get a book of vouchers when you check in...one for each day of your stay. Just tear off the appropriate ticket and hand it to one of the staff...they'll check it, ask you to sign the back and then you're free to help yourself to the buffet.
I was offered a choice of 2 upper floor rooms when I checked in. The ones I saw were identical in layout on the inside and of good size. I chose room 136...far enough from the reception/restaurant area if you wanted some peace and quiet (karaoke nights were quite lively..this didn't bother me but might be an issue for those that prefer a quiet evening). The balcony overlooked someones backyard and you could just about make out the sea in the distance through the palm trees.
If you need any more info just ask.
Have a good time
Neil
Thanks for the info, I suppose I will have to see how I go on when I get there, I have stayed in quite a few locations in Goa, but always seem to get drawn back to Baga. Even when I stay elsewhere, I find myself jumping in a taxi & asking to be taken to either Titos road or CSM road. The breakfasts in Bernards are great, but as I walked down to the beach & looked at the CSM villas dotted down the road, always fancied staying there as it felt so tranquil, & I remember the steak burgers & chips @ the big banana. Can not wait 22 days till I go.....
Best Regards

This was my first time to Goa but I'm not sure if I'll be rushing back to Baga in a hurry. I never found the beach sellers a problem..just some of the other holiday-makers! Must have had a bad batch on the flight I was on
CSM is definitely a good place to stay though and I'm sure you'll be happy there. Breakfast at Big Banana was good as well.
Have a good time!

hi,im of to this hotel on xmas/new year.ive actually been in there a couple of times as my sis hes stayed there the last 6 years (obviously she likes it)i was wondering if all rooms have air con and do you have to pay for it,or is it included.thanks.also when she came back feb,she thought the food standard had dropped a little.although reading above reports it doesnt appear so.,thanks les
There was a bit of confusion over AC when I booked. The brochure said all standard rooms had AC but then I received a letter saying it was payable locally. I eventually got it at no extra cost after having a friendly word with my travel agent. I'd double-check the brochure description to be sure.
The food was good when I chose to eat at the hotel. Chicken was off the menu...but it was widely available at the beach shacks.
