First of all let me say sorry to Tootsie for going off topic, but I was in fact replying to Munchitos post.

With regards to the original post I would like to suggest the following resorts:

The Regency Country Club in Chayofa is a resort of outstanding quality. It has only been open fully for about 6 months but the area and views are beautiful. No expense has been spared on the decor/furnishings in the apartments and the pool area is very relaxing. It is not far from the Eagle Park which makes a good day out. It is however about a ten minute cab ride from the main resorts of PDLA, Los Cristianos etc. so unless you hire a car you will need to get cabs to the beach or the restaurants.

Lagos de Fanabe is another nice resort and very central for Fanabe beach, bars and restaurants.

To be honest as long as you find a nice apartment to stay in PDLA, Los Cristianos,Playa Fanabe and Costa Adeje are all pretty much within walking distance to each other so are within easy reach.

As for restaurants most will serve you with a decent meal but our favourite is called The Ship which is near Mercadona at San Eugino. It is opposite Ocean Park and it is owned by a Tenerifian couple who make you feel like one of the family from your first visit, hence the reason why we visit there virtually every other night of our holidays and have been doing so for over 20 years.

Also to agree with Munchito, although we have only stayed in the north of the island once twenty odd years ago it was lovely. We stayed at an hotel called Parque San Antonio in Peurto de la Cruz which is still there and still as pretty with all it's tropical plants and greenery everywhere. In fact while we out there over Christmas & New Year we had a drive to the North and actually came across the hotel so we stopped for a coffee for old times sake.

Hope you find the holiday you are looking for

oooh, did we hit a nerve....anyway, as i was saying, try los cristianos. I stand by what i said about PDLA, and yes, for all the reasons everybody quoted about english/irish/scots bars etc and too many people wearing footy shirts, thats exactly why we didn't like it. I also said that we had great days exploring off the beaten track to loads of little villages..did anyone actually read the rest of the report or did they take offence at me comparing PDLA to Blackpool in the sun.?

Tenerife is a nice place to stay, and i still stand by me saying i prefer los cristianos to PDLA...

I think we have exhausted this subject..

Parents in law have a place near PDLC and have been going there for 35 years! We have been most places on the Island and personally if we were staying at a hotel would only stay in the PDLC area and do not like PDLA and LC and other people on this forum have the exact opposite opinion im sure....

I think maybe we should end it there as we are not all going to agree and this could go on and on......

Interesting point though, I have put another post on here under "Question" and no one has replied....mmmmm tells me alot - ha ha..
