Do a search on this forum for... menu del dia ...and you will get lots of info on meal costs when eating out.

There's nothing sad about being on a tight budget. You will ceratinly save by doing your own cooking, and you can make that as cheap as you want from the supermarket. Again have a look around the resort as all restaurants have their menus on display so you can browse before deciding whether to go in or not. Things like ices and cokes for the kids could be costly as they want so much of it, so take a large cool bag to the beach with cold drinks, some fruit, yoghurts etc and this will also save you some money. Remember too that the sunloungers at the beach cost money, so take your own mats and beach towels. You can buy a cheap beach brolly when I get to resort - 7-10 euros and keep your coolbag under it out of the sun.
Have fun :sun

If you type Menu +del +Dia into the Search facility and select Posts instead of Topics it will bring up all the posts where this is mentioned. Notice there is not a space between + and the next word.

If you go to the larger supermarket a the edge of the town Capra ...something, you will be able to buy more cheaply , especially bottles of coke etc. The smaller shops always charge alot more. Eating out is relatively cheap, but I know that a glass of coke is as much or even more than a 2 litre bottle.

Hi!

Keel is quite correct, Caprabo supermarket is the best bet for a variety of grocieries and is much cheaper than the shops in the centre for food and drinks (and alcohlolic ones too!)

It would be worthwhile spending a couple of quid on a taxi there if you dont have a car.

Also if you are out and about during the day, have a look at the menus on the restaurants, to see where you want to go later, and the prices. Its much easier to do this at your leisure than at night, where you have got the PRs trying to coax you in, you tend to feel under pressure to move on, as they can sometimes be a bit "forceful", however they are just doing their job!!

Have a lovely holiday, Cala D'Or is beautiful, you will love it!

would a 100 be enough?

Take some drinks from home with you for the airport as well - they are the most costly places especially if you have children who are wanting a drink etc.

I always take my own coffee and a mug (don't like those little cups in apartments) some sweetex as well are handy if you take sugar in your hot drinks.

Budget X amount per day from your total spends that may help as there's nothing worse than worrying you're going to run out of money. £1000 for 14 days is £70 per day (You may need a little less on your first and last day depending on flight times).

Spanish restaurants/pubs are brilliant at letting you buy say 2/3 adult meals and they will gladly bring you extra plates for you to share out their large portions between you and your children.

Take some drinks and make a few sarnies for the return journey as well incase of any flight delay.

I'm sure you'll be fine with £1000 - don't stress yourself.... :D

I think £1000 will be plenty for you if you are going to be cooking, and not eating out every single night!

Like Glynis says, divide your total amount, whatever it is into 14 and try to keep to that amount each day. Obviously you might spend more on the day you are stocking up on groceries!

will 800 pound be enough for 1 week with my nephew as we are self catering an with traveling without my husband i wont be carrying any cash cards but i dont want to scrimp an save each day an plan to do no cooking atall sheer heavan so are the restraunts dear an how much for a beer

I would think £800 would be enough for a week, but it really depends on what you do and where you eat. I suggest dividing it by the number of days there which will give you about £114 a day, which should be plenty. It's better to budget than be left short at the end of the holiday.

£1000 will be more than enough. If that's your budget, you'll have nothing to worry about.

Hi im off on a girly holiday beginning of september and we're going all inclusive. This is my first ever girly holiday, usually go to Goa with my husband and child but leaving them at home as we have already been away twice this year. I think we will be staying in the hotel during the day (possibly a few trips) and then at night having a few drinks in the hotel then going to the bars. Our hotel in the honolulu in palma nova but its near magaluf so will be spending most of our time in magaluf.
Was just wondering how much would i need to take?
about £30 a night ( we will be making use of the free alcohol in the hotel so we wont be drinking lots in the bars, well thats the plan lol)

Thanks
