We are going to magaluf in october (family of four,2 adults 2 kids)has anyone any idea hows much spends we will need.
Last year we went to salou and changed £2000 before we went,we ate out breakfast, lunch and dinner and drank all day and night and we still had over 500 euro left (and there were five of us then)
We will we eating out all the time and we also want to go to pirates(which i have been told can be pricey)also maybe a water park,so if anyone could give me any advice on how much sterling to change it would be a great help.

I would say if with children maybe 2500. Not sure but the waterparks are expensive, all activities are really

We spent £1000 last year, and went to PIRATES, amongst other things. We are 2 adults, 2 kids as well, and ate out pretty much for every meal.

We were 2 adults 1 child and we spent £1300 in magaluf july 04.We ate out every day and went to both water parks,didnt get to go to pirates though.We spent less on this holiday than any of our others,we normally spend £1500 + credit card for anything we want to take home with us like trainers,perfume and designer clothing but i managed to get perfume and footie tops(for my partner and little one)with our spends.If you need anymore info just ask and i'll try my best to help.Like i said on the other discussion we go 20/9/04 so will let you know how it goes,

well i managed £2000 2 adults no kids!!!! and i was 1/2 board!!!!

coz although 1/2 board only used the restaurant twice at night, had a lunch every dayand a slap up meal every nite. and drank untill 3 am, trips taxis. (plus i was there for 17 nights) only works out at about £120 a day which isnt that much really.

we went SC to Magaluf as a group of lads and did a number of trips with the reps (waterpark/bar crawls etc) and we all took between £350 and £400, i would suggest that is plenty cos we spend quite a lot on alcohol!

How did you manage on so little?I spent £300 21 years ago in Ibiza on my last lads holiday.

Just got from Ibiza this year and my 18 year old son and his mate spent £500 each and we were FULL BOARD.

cos u get dirty cheap spirits before you go out....

and you take a trip to a bar called fantasy island (at the bottom of the strip..other end from bannana's etc) where u pay 3.5e for a pint of vodka redbull each then get 3 free shots each (quite strong) and they fill up a budweiser bucket (absolutly massive... i know we nicked it and brought it home in the case :wink:

) which they fill with a bottle of vodka, bottle of shnapps and fruit juice..... it was time for a taxi to the pavement and we'd only been in one bar...couldn't even drink all that.... rest of the night didnt need a drop more!!

spending money

i am going to ca'n picafort in sept/oct staying at the clumba mar.we are half board,2 adults and 3 kids.how much spending money do you think we will need for 2 weeks.we will proberly eat out a few times,we also like a drink,and will be bringing some presents and fags back.also should i take travellers cheques or card or euros or a bit of all.any info on hotel or resort would be helpful also.

I would take all those types of money!

When we go I have enough Euro's to last a few days, travs cheques for later (only change enough for a few days at a time-that way you don't spend too much) cards for special things or hole in the wall emergencies and maybe a bit of sterling to fall back on.

Give yourselves a set amount for each day.
I work out a daily budget for food, drinks etc and keep spare other money for fags, treats, outings, bucket & spades.
Were on a tight budget and will be S/C, but we'll eat out most days atleast once.
Just depends on what you can afford and what you like doing.
If you go on alot of trips then you'll need more for extras.
Biggest expence for us is my husbands trip to the tabac on the last day. :roll:

we went to santa ponsa with 3 kids took £1.500 for two weeks ate out for breakfast and tea every day went on a boat trip went to sea the dolphin show got taxi to market bought gifts no fags though came home with about £1.000. always take euros with me and hide them in apartments we dont have a budget for each day just hope we have enough for last few days.

well i recon to spend about 100 quid a night + !! and thats for 2.

Previously weve done £50 a day for 4!
(In the end may have spent alot more .)
Kids were 18m & 5 but we ate out atleast once a day.
Wimpy had a good meal deal on in Magaluf when we went so lunch was there sometimes.
That didn't include petrol for the hire car or the water park or buckets and spades. The money they had from Grandma covered that.
Husband had sterling cash for his fags,and the car was already paid for.

I think if you have back up to fall back on.
That's why I take my cash cards as I'll get paid from both jobs whilst were away- Hole in the wall job!

We don't eat in the plushest restaurants(weve got kids!), go clubbing or on lots of trips (as in previous years weve hired a car or used the bus) but never do without, but we don't go mad on presents.
