This is an English holiday site so people will naturally use the English spelling or pronunciation of a name, we say Majorca instead of Mallorca. Most nationalities have a different spelling or pronunciation of Town/Country names. I live in Germany I 'don't find it sad when people say Munich instead of München or Cologne instead of Köln. Neither do I get embarrassed when French friends say Londres instead of London.

I think what Wizard was saying is it's Paphos and not Pathos. We spell it with a
"ph" and in Cyprus it's spelt with an "f".

PATHOS which is a word in its own right.
