If you like somewhere quiet Aghia Efimia, Makis Apartments were good, only small pool but adequate, stoney beach but great clear water and fine with jelly shoes on. The resort has some bars and enough tavernas to choose. for a relaxing holiday it was good nice small harbour Skala is livlier maybe better for the children.

Corfu was nice at St. George South. Blue Diamond Studios good pool resort pretty quiet, safe enough for the children to go out themselves good choice of tavernas, never had a bad meal at all. Studios just for two people though Good beach a little climbe downhill to it. Skopelos was good also, fly into Skiathos then hydrofoil. we stayed in skopelos town the evlalia studios apartments. about a quarter of an hour walk down to the harbour, lots of locals round the harbour on an evening all the family good for sitting people watching. The evlalia has a nice pool area. no beach in the town but we liked the pool then walked down to the harbour on an evening.

Skiathos itself would be a great introduction to the Greek islands with its fantastic beaches, adequate nightlife, daily boat trips from Skiathos Town and sea-taxis which run to and from various beaches around the island and good bus service from Skiathos Town - Koukanaries. We stayed at a Thomson property in Aghia Paraskevi the Marialena Village apartments which were superb, only two years old and with good sized pool, poolside snackbar and plenty of free sunbeds provided by George the owner and his family who couldn't have been more friendly and helpful, its situated about 15 minutes walk from the main road and bus route and is approximately halfway along the coastroad, i will definately be returning soon, i hope this helps.

Crete is also nice, because its a large island (possibly the largest?) it has all types of resorts from quiet to lively to somewhere in between. Last year we stayed about 20 mins from Chania, plenty of resorts at this end of Crete and all sorts of accommodation from AI to Self-catering.

Crete has its own forum on here. It might be worth you checking it out and perhaps looking at some of the hotel/apartment reviews in the review section.
