Hi,
I have just booked a 3 night mini-break to Salou from 1st - 4th May to the hotel Golden Avenida Park hotel.
We booked a superior half board room, which cost us £5 PER ROOM PER NIGHT which sleeps upto 4! There's 3 in one room and 2 in another... it cost us £30 for us all for 3 nights half board, i cant believe it!! This was booked on http://www.thomson.co.uk
The flights were Liverpool to Reus and cost £70 each which includes travel insurance so only paid £75 each what a bargain!!
Anway, want to know if anyone else is off there that time of year and for anyone whos been there any info on the nightlife, is there many bars and is it expensive? Many thanks :-) 6weeks 6 days to go
We stayed at this hotel in 2003 but i was under the impression it was a family hotel only and didnt take singles but it must have changed since.
The hotel itself is nice with friendly staff and is kept really clean.
Hope you get a poolside room(we didnt cos we had a two bedded one) and it over looked a busy main road.
If you fancy a break from the hotel food there is a little cafe called the boathouse(out of the hotel walk to your left and down the street its on the right hand side) it has lovely food and the people couldnt do enough for you.
Cant really say much about the nightlife though as we were with our 3 kids,so we didnt do much of that.
I must say though you got a brilliant deal enjoy you break. hope this helps.

We've booked to go to Golden Avenida in 17 days. Has anyone been recently, that can tell us anything? We have been the last 2 years and hadn't planned to go this year but have decided just to go.
Iseral was there last year and just wondered if anyone knows the entertainment staff this year.

from what i read on other sites, israel is back this year. we go on august 5th, cant come soon enough!
Thanks for that. Our friends fly on in 8 days and so will catch me up on any gos before then and we will join them for their second week.
following on from my post, we decided to stay with the Avenida and fly on the 12th Aug for 2 wks, we have requested pool side rooms and I might call the hotel aweek before we go and request this again, as have 3 small kids.....so don't want the noise of the road/bars etc....
Having had my first poolside view for the first ever year, it was noiser than ever. We've worked out that rooms 22-24 are the best ones to get and the 4th floor or above. The pool views were just a mare with noise until about 12.30am and then again at 4-5am when the clubs kicked out. Hoping the entertainment has improved by the time you go after all the complaints.
re the rooms are they the apartments or hotel rooms?? as we have booked a self catering appt...
cheers

The whole hotel are apartments. They are very clean but I did find the pool view very noisy this year. I also found the entertainment staff wouldn't shut up. I was by the pool for 9am until they came in and ruined my peace at 11am. Best time for the theme park is about 3pm. We also had to go SC this year but we bought 4 lots of meals for 288€ It actually worked out cheaper than we have poaid in the past for our meals in britain.
re the theme park - children are 5, 3, and 19mts so with the heat not sure how often we will use it, if at all - do you know how much it is to get i??? and we love Florida (we go most years) so not sure how it will compare!!!

My kids are 6 and 3. There was a ride for us all and the first year we went ds was 20 months and he got on a lot of the rides in China and Polynesia. We often went up after dinner and stayed until about 9pm. At the moment some places are doing 14 day tickets for the price of 3, so it can be more of an investment to buy a 14 day ticket over here compared to a day ticket over there. We did use it a lot and found that there was something for everyone.
thanks will look into getting some tickets before we go.... we are also going back to Florida next Easter, can't wait..
grovee - re the rooms are 22 - 24 pool view or road side view..??
Road side but not the noisy ones.
has anyone used the kids club, have a 5, 3 and 20mts old - what age do they take the kids from, how long are the sessions and what time do they run and will my 3 & 5 yr old be able to go in together???
Your 3 and 5 year old will be in the tots club. Your 20 month old can only use the creche at 15€ for a 2-3 hour session. The tots sessions normally ran from 11am-1pm and you could use drop in at 2-4pm where anyone can go and the evening club was 8-10pm for 3€ per child. Chris and his team were fantastic. Chris was there last year and is a great childcarer and the girls working with him this year were really good. Liann was one of the best if she is still there.
thanks groovee - have also emailed the hotel re the rooms - so fingers crossed we get good room together (with our friends) booked this last year, so cannot believe the date is getting closer...just got to pack now!!
is there launderette at the Avenida park, as not sure how much to pack with 3 kids!!
leave on sat....
thanks

yes but take your own tablets as the machine's pretty crap without it. I just take tesco's own liquid tabs. You buy the tokens at reception. Boris, INgrid, Maggie and Crystal are just the best.
