We are thinking about visiting Carvoeiro for 9 nights this year, staying at the Mirachoro Praia Hotel. We are a couple in our early 30's. We enjoy good food and nice bars. Would Carvoeiro be suitable for us? We are planning on staying from the 29th August - 7th September. What kind of tempetures can we expect?
Thanks
The resort/village area is pretty compact so there are lots of places to go within walking distance.
A search will take you a great website which has all the information you could ever need about the town and if you still have unanswered questions there is a forum too.
Many people who vist CVO are devotees, i.e. they return time and time again.

We stayed at the Mirachoro Praia Hotel in September, this hotel is a ideal base for visiting Carvoeiro, there are loads of bars and restaurants within easy walking distance, all the resturants we visited were good value the temp in september was around 25 degrees, if you like good food you will not be dissapointed
Thanks for the replies, they are very helpful!! Carvoeiro sounds like the type of holiday we are looking for.
Can anyone tell me how much a taxi from Faro to Carvoeiro would cost? Thanks
About 55 euros - give or take
We paid €40 for a airport transfer for 4 people
http://www.carvoeiro.com about ensuring that you travel in a fully licenced vehicle and some of that discussion talks about tyhose who aren't being able to undercut quite substantially which is great for the consumer until something goes wrong.
I erred on the side of caution.

That is an excellent price Garin - there is a lot of discussion on I erred on the side of caution.

I have seen that discussion, this was sorted out through the hotel complete with paperwork so I presume it was legal, they have a few contact numbers for different companies
P.S. We were in Zakynthos this year, and were paying around 3.50 euro for a large beer and the same for a vodka & diet coke. Bottles of beer were around 3.00 - 3.50. Meals were about 30 - 35 euro for 2 courses & wine. We found drinks slightly expensive, but eating out extremely reasonable. Can we expect the same from Carvoeiro?
I am afraid I can only give a tourist perspective and was relying on some of the locals to give you up to date information which they now have.
