We have walked on the promenade after midnight along from the Harbour beach in Los Cris. up to the San Telmo CC towards the Las Vistas CC and around the headland behind the Parque Santiago but there are some areas I would avoid late at night.....

the bit behind the Veronicas strip for instance very dark and uninviting.

The promenade is a lovely (long) walk in the daytime - when you come out of your hotel (through the side gate which you access with your room card) you are basically at the prom and have the option to go either right or left. Its nice to go to the right along to Playa Del Duque and see how the other half live! Don't think I would chance the bit behind Veronicas after dark, but that's quite a way in the other direction.

I would come off at Palm Beach well you have to anyway. I would then walk straight down to the patch and rejoin the walkway there.

We did this walk from los C to Palm Beach past midnight the other week. We did walk past the back of veronicas. But there was 6 of us but we felt fine.

I've been resident here in Tenerife for a number of years and would strongly advise NOT to walk the prom after dark, anywhere from LC to PDLA. I deal with tourists every day, a small percentage have been mugged, but dont let this put you off, you will be safe as long as you take the same precautions as you would in your own country

I live up the hill from the Torviscas playa and Fanabe prom is my nearest. I'm not sure about walking towards Puerto Colon and Las Americas toward LC, but the other direction toward Del Duque is quite safe at night. Its well lit and there are loads of people down there until as late as midnight. I was walking along just last Sunday night, we went as far as La Calletta.

The prom west toward Del Duque is littered with little bars, not the usual "€1 a pint music bars", but small brand new Spanish bars, cafès and restaurants. It all new and well lit. There are loads of people about but obviously precautions such as shoulder bags should be kept close as in any area.

If your lucky you might even catch one of the beach party nights at the Bahia Del Duque hotel. you cant join them on the beach but you get an absolutely fantastic view of the fabulous fireworks from the prom!

The prom in Fanabe is far safer than an after dark trip to Tescos on foot in the UK!
