I,d plump for Oct, the weather is usually fine, everything is fresh and green, trips to the falls are at their best, more tha half the shacks will be up and running, all the resturants will be open, if you are lucky Diwalli might fall during your stay. What wont be open is the Tibetan Markets that sell silver jewelry, Ignos night market, Im not sure about Mackies night market. What will definatley be open is the big wed. market at Anjuna The last two weeks in Oct is one time we always try to fit in a stay as it,s not too busy and accomodation is not a problem April can be very humid and by then some of the shacks are starting to come down an d there seems to be an end of the season feel about the place, Alan

I would go for October also! Ok ALL the shacks won't be open but you arn't going to get around all 350 plus anyway! As for restaurants there will be more than enough open at that time. Weather, definately go for October, I've just got back and it's B***** hot and humid, in Oct will be spot on! There will be more than enough going on and more than enough places to drink, eat and shop!

I would vote for October too. I have planned my trip in the third week of October myself. The weather would be perfect and the season would just be picking up.

I am all over the world for my holidays next year! But yes- you are right. I was given Goa when I became mod and knew nothing about it. However, so many people who have enjoyed holidays I like seem to love Goa- I have to give it a go. My holidays are not the best for Goa though and I am stuck with October and April.( We also look as if we are going to Cape Town and back to Vietnam and/or Cambodia)
