yes malia and chersonissos are really close. bus is the normal way to go from one to the other but i dont think you will find a bus after 21:00 or 22:00 unless they have started a local one which i might not know. the bus ticket is not expensive at all so dont worry.
Taxi is for the nights back to your hotel when you will need one as no bus. for taxis again i dont know prices but keep in mind after 24:00 they charge more.
Chersonissos hotel. i have been there twice as a quest of a client but never went up in the rooms. from what i had seen i liked it. friendly staff and clean. the only thing that i didnt like was that its location is towards the end part of chersonissos and not central.

We stayed in STALIS last Aug, which is between Herson's and Malia. We visited both places during our two weeks. In my opinion they are NOT that close, although there are 'neighbouring' resorts. A taxi ride from Stalis to H was about 15-20 mins, and from Stalis to Malia was about a 10 min ride, so H to M will take about 25 - 30 mins. Not a long time I know, but not just a few minutes away. The times we went to H, for a meal and night out, it was VERY lively with loads of bars along the front and in the side steets leading from the main road down to the front, you should have a good time there. Also, Stalis lies between H and M, and has a good number of bars along it's Beach Road, which continues all the way to Malia. We found M was tacky and OTT, but then again we are no longer in the 18-30 bracket, although we DO enjoy a good night out on the toon!!! (We are from Newcastle after all )

I stayed in Hersonnissos 3 years ago and found the resort to be lively although not as 'mad' as traditional 18-30 resorts. We got a taxi to Malia on one of our nights there and this took about 20 minutes. As RayP states they are not really that close. Certainly not within walking distance as Palma Nova and Magaluf are. You may find, as we did, that you prefer nights out in hersonnissos anyway. There are plenty of bars and clubs lining the main road through the resort and down by the sea front. Malia was just that bit much although we were in our late twenties at the time!

hiya just thought idpost a reply as i went to hersonissos twice last year once in may and once in september i went wen the season was alot quieter but was still lively enough for me. i was thinking about getting taxis to malia but because hersonissos was so livly itself i never bothered didnt want to miss a night there im going back hersonissos in 3 weeks and do plan to go to malia this time just for one night i will have to see if this happens or not some reps we met out there told us they use to pay about 20 euros to malia from hersonisos if i do end up going to malia for the night i will let u know how much we paid
