We too visited Paloma Park on a number of occasions last year whilst staying in Benalmadena, I would agree that it's a lovely place. I'm pretty sure that they were goats and not sheep that you saw, they tried to eat my handbag :!:

We took some bread for the ducks that was left over from breakfast in the hotel.
There is a cafe as you come through the gates and also one further in the park, it was nice to sit out, have a beer and watch the world go by.

Our children also enjoyed spotting the rabbits springing out from the bushes. I would highly recommend it for a free afternoon out.

Yes, a very pleasant way to pass an evening rather than strolling around the busier area :D

Yes, this is a really nice park, constantly maintained and always under development :D . Until a few years ago the big aviaries were populated by a variety of colourful birds, and there were a family of pelicans on the lake that had apparently just flown in about 6 years ago. Where they've gone now i don't know :? , but it means that there are fish in the lake again, some as big as your thigh (no fishing!)
Some British local authorities could learn from this excellent park  Adjacent to the park is the feria ground where there is the Spanish equivalent of a car boot sale-cum attic sale of a Wednesday morning. Well worth a visit.
The only drawback :( is that it is all situated on a large hill. Unless you are staying somewhere like the nearby Benal Beach apartment complex you will have either a steep climb to get there or a steep climb back up again
One nearby hill is known locally as 'Cardiac Hill'!

How far is this park from San Fermin please? I am tryin g to get as much information as possible as we are going next Tuesday

San Fermin - out of the door - turn right and go down the road until you come to a turning on your right. Follow this road and turn right again when you get to the junction - walk up the road and take the next left down Calle Capricornio. (opposite British Bar) This is a short road which meets a main road. Turn left and go down the hill to the bottom - traffic lights are here - and you will see some large gates called the Crystal Gates. Go through these gates and you are in Paloma Park.
It takes about 10 minutes to walk from San Fermin to the Park.
The park has just been improved - once again - and it just gets better. On the right hand side there is now a large cactus garden and pond where you usually find all the peacocks. A new childrens playground has been built with a rope bridge across the wide footpath which leads to a big sand pit. The goat enclosure has been replaced with a larger one and some of the aviaries have disappeared.
Enjoy it - it is a lovely place to sit and read on a sunny day - lots of seats by the way.

how is it for facilities food, drink and toilets for the kids

Paloma Park is perfect for everyone. Three snack bars, well maintained toilets, adventure play areas,
etc. The rabbits and bantams are so tame they will eat out of your hand. Haven't seen the albino
peacock this year but there are several blue ones.

Was there a couple of hours ago feeding the ducks ....... !

Cn someone please tell me if there is a typical spanish village/area near paloma park, i am sure that someone told me that if you go past paloma park,so its on your left, and carry on down that road and its around there, can any one help

The nearest typically Spanish village near Paloma Park is Benalmadena pueblo, but it's nowhere near. I am presuming you mean the Palm Tree area of Benalmadena or Arroyo de la Miel? If you are looking at a map, the right hand side of the park is where most of the high rise blocks are. This is around the Bonanza area. Not very pretty and full of Brit bars. If you go to the left of the park the area is much prettier and quieter. There are a lot of typically built andalucian properties that side. Also if you walk into Arroyo de la Miel and go down some of the back streets you will find lots of little roads that are still typically spanish.

so if i am stood outside of the main gates at paloma park and they are on my left do i just carry on down that road

Downhill will take you to the beach. Uphill will take you to Arroyo. If you go through Paloma Park towards the feria ground and keep walking to the left of the resort it will take you to the nicer part of Benalmadena.

Hi, Can anyone tell me how to get to Paloma Park from the Benalmadena Marina Area.
Many thanks. :sun2

Walking into Benalmadena by the side of the road........
Walking passed the hotels Triton and Riviera you will eventually come to a roundabout that has a structure full of what looks like kiddies windmills.
Turn right at the roundabout and up the short incline passed the Sunny Beach apartments, and one of the entrances to the park is straight in front.

From the Marina itself, walk through the Marina passed Sea Life, cross over the road and rejoin the promenade on the Benalmadena side.
Keep walking and eventually if you keep looking right, you will see the windmill roundabout.
Cross over the road ....directions as above.
