Stayed in the area last year....most of the beaches had at least one restaurant where you could take a pleasant meal. Most were quite upmarket restaurants as I recall. Otherwise there were a few restaurants dotted around the area - quite often they involved a trip in the hire car though as there did not seem to be one defined area where the restaurants were. We often took a trip inland to Silves for a meal...proper Portuguese food but much less than the tourist restaurants.

We have stayed in this aremany of good restaurants around, they are a little scattered about but worth finding. One worth a vistit is Jompra, food and service is good, you can sit in or you can sit on the terrace and watch the sun set. We also likes Dom Dennie (not sure of the spelling), Hotel Tor Velher, San Domingos which is next to the famous Boca Doce cake shop where the cakes are to die for, the also make nice sandwiches and light lunches. O Girrisol,Por de Sol, to name but a few. Hope you have a fab holiday
